    I walk or bike several miles daily year-round, rain, snow or shine. REI's waterproof but highly-breathable eVent fabric clothing makes that easy to do when the weather may not be dry. I particularly like that it lets vapor escape, so I don't end up wet from the inside. It's light enough to wear in summer, and still works in winter with a fleece layer underneath.

    I own several pieces of Gore-Tex gear that work as well if not a bit better than these pants, and the cost was less than half. I don't think that the waterproof zippers make these pants worth the price of a complete Gore-Tex running suit (jacket and pants).
