Comments about K2 Rescue Shovel Plus:
I was skeptical at first, as it felt a little flimsy. I was pleasantly surprised after using it in adverse conditions to build a snow cave with my 10 year old daughter. The metal blade allowed us to hack our way through multiple layers of ice between snow. That wouldn't have gone well with my older plastic bladed shovel (which sat mostly unused in the snow the whole time)
The best part is being able to adjust this from a shovel to a hoe. Really made scraping away hard layers and digging sideways a lot easier, and loose snow/ice removal was a breeze.

Comments about K2 Rescue Shovel Plus:
Have not used this product yet, but purchased because I'm a tall guy, and the long handle appealed to me. Was a tossup between this and the BD Deploy 7.
I bought this assuming that the 800g weight included the little kit thing in the handle that's part of a system to attach some stuff to skis (for making a litter), and that removing it would make the weight more comprable to the Deploy 7, but this turned out to not be the case.
Not a huge deal, but the kit inside weighs in at 67g on top of the 800g shovel.
