The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
I have never owned a GPS until I found this little gem. I have used the 650t on many hikes, tracking and recording ATV trails, checking speeds of ATVs on trails, measuring speed on zip lines and plotting height and elevations of current and upcoming zip lines. I also use this on our fishing trips around this great island. This GPS has done everything we have asked of it and more. I think this is a great product.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
This has been a great product so far. I have only been able to take it on a week long backpacking trip into the Dark Canyon Wilderness in SE Utah but it was a gem to have along. It saved us from taking the wrong trail and hiking up the wrong canyon twice since there were no trail markers or signs and cairns were very scarce. There are many options that I did not use due to my lack of understanding all this product can do. I purchased it with very little time to figure out all the bells and whistles before the trip but the basics were enough for me to highly recommend it to others that have a need for a hand held GPS unit. The only drawback for me was the poor battery life. I used it very minimally on the trip....basically to cross reference where we were on a Trails Illustrated map and after 6 days the battery life was down to under 10% left. I would have enjoyed playing around with it more while I was out there but didn't trust that I would have enough battery in case of a true emergency and need for it's uses. I did have extra batteries to install if needed but it would be nice if the NiCad battery that it comes with would hold a charge for longer. Other than that....it was awesome!!!

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
This is the best GPS I have ever owned, I think this is the 5th one. The screen is bright clear and easy to use, it works fast without delay. I use a carabineer to clip it to my backpack and set it on top over my right shoulder, out of the way but very easy to grab. The Garmin maps sold separately are a large plus when hiking, to show the trails.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
This is "his" wife. He has been singing the praises of this unit since he opened the box. This is his third gps used for hunting and fishing. He loves this one with all caps. Every time he uses it he comes home happy with new praises. BTW- he also bought the marine mount which uses his electrical power vs supporting the energizer battery company. He loves that feature too. Overall, he could not be happier.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
I did many 14ers and this device helps you to not get lost. Easy to read maps. Capability to retrace steps. It has capability to direct you to a waypoint or to a place where you took a photo (e.g. direct me back to the trailhead or the mine at 12,000 ft). The accuracy is spot on, and I was deep in the back country doing 14ers. It locks on to 25 satellites and knows where you are and your elevation. The day I hiked mount sherman it was snowing hard and very little visibility, but no trouble finding the peak with this device. By the way, it took great pictures too. 5 MP pics.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
This is my first GPS. I bought it for use on my Dual Sport motorcycle based upon satellite reception, accuracy, and weather resistance. Being my first GPS, I spent a fair amount of time getting my computer loaded with the appropriate programs. After that, I watched a few of the BaseCamp videos on how to create a route and found everything to be easy and intuitive from thereon. I have taken it out in the car a couple of times to test it out and found it to be very accurate and easy to use. The battery lasts very long but I will ultimately get the rugged mount with power for the motorcycle. I believe the 650t will fit my purpose well and would recommend it anyone looking for a multipurpose GPS unit.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
This is a really great GPS. Huge screen, easy to read in daylight, accurate and full-featured. The only downside as I see it is that it's just a bit too big for route-finding usage. If you have a lot of time and want an all-in-one, this is the best you can get. However, if you just want something with an altimeter and a color screen and touch/camera isn't necessary, go with the eTrex 30.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
I originally had a Delorme PN-60 and never liked it do to it being difficult to use and having a tiny screen! I replaced it with the Montana 650t. I really like having a touch screen, it makes marking way points and looking for other info so easy. Garmin has done an awesome job making this unit very user friendly. You can change profiles very easy turning this into a city navigator to get to the trail, it has a car on the map showing you where you are, and once your at the trail you can choose a different profile to make it a hiking GPSr! I. Could do more with the Montana in a week than I ever figured out how to do with my Delmore in the year I had it! I think the camera and the 100k maps were worth the $100 it cost to upgrade from the Montana 600, the pictures actually aren't to bad and you can use them as waypoints to market landmarks! The 100k maps are also kinda so so but atleast you always have a base map no matter where you are in the US! Adding the 24k garmin maps makes this gps even more awesome by being able to use 3D view and the city navigation modes! The battery life isn't to bad 8+ hours of heavy use with the back light turned way low with the included lithium battery back. I don't think that's to bad considering how big the screen and it does way better than my Delmore! I have not had it die completely on me so I can't say exactly how long it will last, and I have only used the included battery.
The only real con I have is it is a little bulky but you get used to it and if im trying to take less stuff I can leave the camera behind! There is also only one protective cover you can get for the Montana and that is the Gizmo cover that makes it so big you can't get it in any pocket on anything! I have just been using a pouch to put it in when im not using it!
Overall this GPS is awesome so far, I think garmin did a great job making this very easy to use and look forward to years if use!

Comments about Garmin Montana 650t GPS:
I've been using GPS units for the past 10+ years. I've had plenty of other models but this is the best GPS unit I've ever owned. Yes, it's expensive, but it really does it all. The touchscreen is big and easy-to-read, the life from the rechargeable (and removable) battery pack is fantastic and you can also use three AA batteries if the need arises. The map redraw is incredibly fast, as is the satellite lock-on during startup. There's a place to loop a lanyard through the bottom of the unit. You can turn the unit 90° and the screen can display horizontally to use in your vehicle. Finally, a combination of a Nuvi and a handheld unit that can be used for driving and finding addresses (with City Nav) as well as hiking and geocaching. Love it!
