Great Thermos. Heat retention is amazing. Literally stays piping hot for 8 hours (if full).
Only complaint is with the lid. Sometimes the plug inside the lid comes unscrewed or just loose which results in leakage.

I bought one at the Perimeter Center, Atlanta REI because I'd forgotten my usual insulated flask. After getting it filled in the morning, I got rushed and left it in the car all day and over night. The next morning the coffee inside was still warm enough to drink without reheating. The flare on the lid lets it pour smoothly as well, a nice touch.

Even though I pre-heated the bottle with hot water before adding hot coffee, after only 5 hours, the coffee was tepid--not even close to hot. I bought this to replace a 15-year old Nippon/Thermos model that was able to keep coffee hot all day. The REI bottle is by far an inferior design. I should have read the description "keep your drink nice and warm" because it certainly doesn't keep drinks hot.

This mug keeps liquid exceptionally warm without priming. The size is really nice, holds well in the hand. Not great for a cup holder, moves a little bit b/c it's so narrow. I bought one and the top inner part was broken so I exchanged it for another one. No problems so far, but did notice that the top inner part can easily get unscrewed and drops of liquid get caught. But, if you just flip it upside down once while the inner top is closed b4 packing it you can get that out.

Filled this bottle up with hot tea for a test run in the whites in 30 - 35 degree weather. Product retained heat really well (6+ hours) and I was happy with my purchase until one point on the trail when I picked my pack up and the bottle slid out. Upon impact (from about 2 -3 feet) with some ice and frozen ground the top cover (made of cheaper plastic) shattered. I was very disappointed with the inability of this product to hold up to even mild wear and tear...I will try again with a new bottle but I don't see why REI wouldn't just use a stronger material and charge a few more dollars...

This thing is amazing. I throw it in my bag next to my electronics, and it never leaks a drop. It keeps coffee hot for at least six or seven hours (I haven't tested it for longer than that). It holds a perfect two and a half cups of liquid. The flip top keeps the drinking area covered when it's closed, so even if you have a grimy bag your mug is always clean when you sip from it. The locking mechanism comes apart for cleaning so it doesn't get gross like my last locking mug. I wish it came in more colors, but overall it's such a great thermos that I'd take it in poo brown if I had to.

This is absolutely the best everyday coffee thermos I've ever owned. I've tried all the others--Starbucks, Stanley, etc.--and none of them even come close to this one. Coffee/tea stays hot for HOURS. It's also plenty durable, excellent quality, neither too large nor too small, easy to open and close, no-spill for drinking (but don't fill it all the way up, just almost all the way up), easy to handwash. I just lost mine and am myself lost without it. :) Am ordering two more right now.

This is by far the best insulated thermos I've ever owned. I have 4 different Starbucks insulated cups (gifts) and they don't come close to performing like this baby. You can still feel heat loss from the lid on all those SB cups, but this thing is amazing. For the price of those SB cups I wish I had 2 more of these. It manages heat loss on the lid very well where others fail to. I've filled up hot drinks in this thing and 3-4 hours later they are still hot (sipping throughout the morning it cools off faster but unopened I've had a hot drink 5 hours later. And if you preheat the inside with hot water before you fill it with your beverage you get even better performance. It's a great size too. I bought matching Doppio Tumblers to use to share hot coco with kids on winter outings. Not just a home run, a grand slam.

I bought this bottle in the hope that I could make it fit in a bottle cage-no luck with that, but that isn't what it is intended for. Instead I carry it in a pack or pannier when I commute. I use it to carry coffee so I can have a hot cup of my favorite pick-me-up when I get to work-in this, its intended use, it really shines.
It keeps the hot coffee inside with no leaks on my work clothes, and it keeps the coffee hot without heating up on the outside, which as another reviewer pointed out can lead to burnt taste buds until you get use to the fact that this bottle is great at its job.
I took it backpacking once and it worked just as well than as on my commutes.
I love this guy so much that I have bought another as a back up in case someone takes a likeing to mine, which is entirely possible since I constantly rave about how great it is.

Most vacuume bottle alway's felt like a waste of space or were to heavy. Not this one!! It's so light!
