    Comments about Soto Fill Adaptor:

If you use a canister stove, sooner or later you will have a collection of partially used canisters. You may find yourself carrying several canisters on each trip to get them used up. A canister that holds 4 ounces of fuel weighs 8 ounces - so you could easily have an extra pound in your pack in order to use up these things. This is somewhat rediculous considering the effort and expense many of us go through to reduce pack weight. On the other hand you may find yourself feeling guilty about throwing partial canisters in the trash instead of recycling them.

There are finally tools to allow you to recycle your EMPTY canister (such as Jetboil Crunch tool) - but these tools don't help you to get a canister empty without wasting fuel. Isobutane is a really good fuel.

Put the Soto fill adapter on your partial canister and use the isobutane to refill your butane lighters. As a cigar smoker, I go through more butane than a typical person, however many campers/hikers carry refillable lighters with them. With this adapter you have a new use for the fueil in partial or almost empty canisters.

The great thing about Isobutane is that it is better performing than the N-Butane sold in stores to refill lighters. N-butane and isobutane are isomers of each other (Basically, the same atoms make the molecules but they are arranged differently). Butane is a single chain whereas isobutane is made of a shorter chain with a branch. Due to the different arrangement, Isobutane has a lower boiling point, higher pressure, and burns more efficiently than than the N-butane (lighter fluid butane). Isobutane works better in low temperatures than N-butane, and by adding a bit of propane to the blend that some canisters have (with its -43F boiling point) you further enhance cold weather performance. I have used many brands of cansiters (Jetboil, MSR, Snow Peak, Coleman, Primus) to refill my lighters and had good luck with them all.

This adapter will help save resources by not wasting fuel and making recycling your canisters more easy. It will also allow your lighter to perform better in the outdoors; a win-win.
