Comments about Icebreaker Sierra Full-Zip Sweater - Men's:
I purchased this jacket a year ago for use in Alaska's winter. Initially I was so surprised that this was my lightest and warmest jacket (not including insulated). However withing one week one of the zipper pulls on one of the pockets fell off. Now one year later and the main zipper comes undone from the waist of the jacket. Great jacket when it is warm and one that I would recomend to a friend, however running and hiking is tricky when you do not know when it will come undone.

Comments about Icebreaker Sierra Full-Zip Sweater - Men's:
I love Icebreaker products and was excited to see this on sale. It looked good in the box, but didn't quite live up to my expectations. The wool is very thin and transparent in locations. I found myself itching before too long. I've owned plenty of wool, so it wasn't that I was unfamiliar. I unboxed it a few times wanting to like it, but it ultimately went back.

Comments about Icebreaker Sierra Full-Zip Sweater - Men's:
This is what I had hoped the Ibex Shak would be. It feels heavier and warmer, has a soft, fleecy interior that feels great against your skin, and has a looser fit that makes it easy to wear over a long-sleeved shirt. It's like a fleece but made of merino with all of the advantages appertaining thereto. I wear it almost every day --unless my girlfriend gets to it first.
In terms of performance it's comfortable (for me) over a t-shirt down into the 50s, over a long sleeve layer down into the 40s. Haven't hiked in it yet, but it would have to be pretty cold (30s?) to wear it as a hiking layer. It would probably match the temperature range of my softshell, more comfortable, but without the water-shedding properties. I haven't tried it in wet weather yet (or at least without a shell) nor have I had it long enough to comment on durability. The zippers, seams, cuffs and collar all have a sturdy feel so I have high hopes for its durability. The zippers are especially heavy which is pleasing.
The fit is outstanding: athletic but not too form fitting. I'm 6'3", 180, narrow build, a little soft in the middle. It is trim around the middle (can't stand jackets made for big, American bellies), the sleeves are long enough for me and it sits a little below the waist of my jeans. Oh, and it has big, useful pockets!
If I had to lodge a complaint it would be about the goofy sleeve pocket. I have no need for that, but I don't really care that it's there. Just makes it look a little more casual.
It's comfortable, versatile and the fit is really good. What more could you want?

Icebreaker makes great products. Sweater is stylish and functional. Color is good. I am 170lbs at 5'8in and the medium fits well. Sweater is not too warm nor cold serves well either as a outer piece or in between piece during high winds and low temps. Style is slight fitted.

This has become the go-to jacket. Between pond skating and running errands, to chores around the house and yards, around town, anywhere! It's the one I grab as either my outer layer or as an insulating layer. This will be coming up to the mountains for my climbs this winter as a mid layer. The fit works well, like all of the icebreaker clothing I have. The only issue I can see so far is the fact that even though it's made of New Zealand merino wool, it's put together in China, which most may not see as a downfall, but I always liked the idea that I was helping some other farm family somewhere, from sheep to seamstress or tailor. Overall, got it on sale, and would have easily paid more.

I have been using Icebreaker baselayers for a while now so was excited to see this new product innovation from them. It acts just like a synthetic fleece but it is 100% merino and natural. I also think it breaths much better. I don't get so hot and cold. It feels warm as soon as I put it on. It is my favorite new fleece.
