The Black Diamond Primrose SA climbing harness package for women sets you up for a season full of rock climbing in the gym, at the crag or in the mountains.
- Package includes all the basics: a climbing harness, ATC belay/rappel device, locking carabiner, chalk bag and 100g of chalk
- Harness features a lightweight aluminum Speed Adjust buckle at the waist that is prethreaded for quick and secure 1-handed operation
- trakFIT leg adjustments feature simple slide adjusters along the leg-loop webbing; trakFIT is quick and easy to adjust and requires no doubling back
- Bullhorn-shaped waistbelt with Dual Core Construction™ features 2 separate bands of webbing that distribute pressure while allowing great breathability
- Abrasion-resistant nylon, breathable mesh, EVA foam padding and a soft lining material create excellent comfort
- 4 pressure-molded gear loops are reinforced with nylon webbing to provide excellent racking space with high strength
- Rear elastic straps adjust easily and can be released
- Black Diamond Primrose SA climbing harness has a rear haul loop that is rated at 12kN
- Package includes a Black Diamond anodized ATC belay device that lets you enjoy smooth rappels and secure belays; ideal for 8 - 11mm diameter ropes

The harness is great and adjusts easily (avoid the version without speed adjust). No issue there. But you overpay when you consider you get a small, bland (grey, not orange as in the picture), basic chalk bag and a basic ATC (which you really don't need indoors at most gyms). Might want to consider spending more on the harness and picking up a chalk bag when you find one that strikes your fancy.

This was a really reasonably priced set of climbing must-haves. I opted to purchase my own rather than renting from the climbing gym, and I have been very pleased with my harness, belay device, and carabiner. The chalk bag is a bit small, so reaching for chalk while on the wall is a bit tricky. Overall a really good buy.

Bought this as a gift for my 14-year old son, who is in a climbing program at the local gym. He is pretty thin and short for his age. He's outgrown the kid's harnesses but doesn't fit into the men's harnesses yet. This women's harness fits him fine, and the color is not too feminine. He seems perfectly happy with it. And thanks to the in-store staffer who recommended it. You really do get expert advice at an REI store!

I've had this harness now for over six months. I've used it for moving as a rope team on Mt. Rainier as well as for ice climbing and a large amount of rock climbing, both in and out of the gym. It has been very comfortable for every use. It's double-back hip belt makes it easy to use. The belay loop is great as well and I liked the leg loop disconnects from the hip belt : this comes in very handy for needing to use the bathroom while on a rope team.

I started rock climbing indoors about a month and a half ago. For the first couple weeks, I used the gym gear (hey, free rentals!) but finally decided to spring the Benjamin and get my own stuff. I cannot tell you what a huge difference this harness has made!! My climbing partner is heavier than I am, so when I belay him I feel more support from my harness as his weight pulls against mine. This harness also doesn't pinch or pull like the gym harness did. I've started to climb outdoors as well and (aside from getting dirty but hey, it's Georgia mud) this harness has been a dream. It is comfortable to hang (okay, and fall) in- plus, it looks great (I am not a pink kind of person and I got really sick of all the women's harnesses being pink and purple)!! The only negative thing I can say about the harness is that it fits a little big in the waist. I don't have the skinniest thighs but my waist is really narrow- I was afraid of popping out of the leg loops with a small so I went with a medium instead, which was the only size the store had in stock anyway. Aside from not being quite as snug as I would like (I like things pretty snug), this harness has been absolutely perfect. The included RockLock is amazing to belay with- it's huge, beefy, and secure. The screwgate is smooth and can be open or closed with one hand. The ATC has been wonderful. It glides over the rope like butter and I haven't had any problems with the rope getting tangled or stuck. I don't have to use a lot of strength to catch my partner or hold him while he hangs. The ATC takes virtually all of the strain of supporting another body off of me. The chalk bag has been a life (and fingerprint) saver; I like the included chalk better than the kind my climbing partner bought. For around $100, you get everything you need to become an avid climber because believe me, using this gear will get you hooked. Everything has held up great and I look forward to putting my gear on every time I climb. Thank you Black Diamond!

I love this kit! I am a just geting into climbing and decided to get my own gear. This had everything I need all in one place! Saved a ton of money getting it all together. The harness is super comfortable and the ATC works great. My only issue is that the chalk bag is a bit small, but ither than that it's great. I haven't used it enough to really be able to give it 5 stars, but so far so good!

I stared climbing a few months ago and got sick of having to pay to rent a harness every time. I was looking for something that would do the trick, but wasn't an extreme investment. This harness is working really well for me, and it's nice to have the chalk, carabiner, and ATC as well.
I will say that if I were any larger this harness would not fit...
