Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I bought this because of the lack of obvious logos and a plain appearance. Primary use was over my shirt and tie instead of a blazer but since I got it I use it every chance I get. The jacket is very comfortable and lightweight. I thought it was a little big but realized it is this size in order to accomodate some layering for colder weather. No cons that I can think of at this time.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I use this jacket for casual wear and for short bike rides in the morning and it works great.
I also took it to Boston when the weather was around freezing. With a couple sweaters underneath it did great.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
Very nice jacket: stops a lot of wind, stands up to light rain (haven't tested it in anything super serious).
The tiniest nits to pick:
The sleeve tightening mechanism at the wrist is a little bulky---velcro straps end up leaving some bunched fabric which took a while to get used to.
The pocket zippers have stuck once or twice, but nothing I couldn't fix. Too much force could break the plastic zippers, though, and then I'd be out of luck.
The fit around the waist is fairly round, and the drawstring cinches leave it oddly bunched.
But these are really minor concerns for such an excellent jacket: the internal pockets are great---they're big enough to hold a sizable book---and the outer ones are fairly spacious as well. Looks good, keeps me warm and dry: great jacket.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I got this since I needed a windproof jacket to use while walking and hiking in the winter. I like the jacket and it is warm, but only if it is not windy or if I layer it under a windproof shell or if I stay active. If I stopped to look at something or have lunch I got cold without another windproof layer on top. I really like the fit and it is warm for warmer non windy days. I expect that it will be much better for the fall and spring than for the winter. But I have actually worn it now each time I have been out this winter, but as an underlayer. And I have been really warm even in below freezing weather, but had to have the windshell to have that. I had issues with it getting damp while out in a light drizzle and would not recomend it in bad weather. I use a windproof/waterproof outer layer which works well with this as an underlayer. I probably would buy this again even though it does not block the wind efficiently.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I originally bought this jacket for hiking in the cool (not freezing) desert climate. I have a down mid-layer but one hike in desert terrain without a shell and that baby would be shredded. I was looking for alternatives and usually don't like fleece because it's useless in the wind. Then I saw this jacket-- windproof! Its also pretty light and packs down relatively small for fleece.
My first hike was in windy high sonoran with snow on the ground. It was perfect-- breathable, windproof, and just warm enough. Then I took it on a smaller hike where it rained and I stayed pretty dry. The jacket itself dries super fast.
I started wearing it running and cycling as well. The windproof factor makes it ideal. I could not be more pleased with a purchase-- and its affordable!

I think this jacket it great. It was just what I was looking for, and I couldn't beat the price. Love REI's products, and this jacket only pushes me to buy more REI brand products. The only complaint is the way the sleeves were constructed. The velcro itself is fine, but there is so much material (even in a large, no one has wrists that are that big) that it bunches up where the velcro folds over, making for an awkward fold you can feel on your wrist. I'm used to it now, but it's a design flaw that would be easy to fix.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
By far the most wind-proof fleece I own!
Love the details like 'zipper garages', interior pockets and chest pockets. Also the easiest to don as the texture of the interior of the sleeves don't grab whatever shirt you're wearing.
The only two complaints I have against this is the choice of material for the liner and the interior pockets, (seems a bit too thin but time will tell if this is a problem or not, so far I've not experienced anything negative) and the sleeve length (feels just a little too long but I guess everyone is built different).

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
I love this fleece. It is stylish. It is warm. It is wind/water resistant. It fits well under my REI softshell. The only problem I have with it is that the chest pocket does not have an exit for ear phones like my REI Mont Range jacket has built in. In a heavy drizzle with 30 mph winds @ 40F I felt nothing but warmth and dryness. I look forward to its performance in the snow.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Fleece Jacket - Men's:
Used this jacket for about a month now, mostly on long urban walks or hiking. It keeps you warm in under 50F degrees if you are active or in sunlight, but if you are just standing still, you will get cold. Started to drop to low 40F with light breeze waiting for a bus and I felt cold. The windproofing is good for the torso (blocked any winds so far), but I do feel the wind (around 10mph) in the arms even with the sleeves tightly closed and hands in the pockets.
I would not rely on this alone based on the product description of it being a thermal fleece for use sitting around the campsite or hiking. Not even just standing around in the city.
As for the fit and durability, excellent. Not restrictive when using backpacks but still fitted well enough for casual use as a daily jacket. Zippers are durable and do not get caught on the inner wind flap.

I love this fleece. I was a bit skeptical at first because it is so thin. It is now my favorite fleece because it is so thin and WARM. Layers really well too if your in extreme cold. Added bonus.....pet hair doesn't stick as much as most fleeces :)
