Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
The bike rack stays on my Honda Civic all the time and I use it everyday. It is perfect and very stable.
Don't try to assemble it yourself if you don't have the right tools.
Bike Rack + Hitch Installation can get quite pricey ($800+) but is well worth it.

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
I bought the 2" hitch rack for my 2008 Subaru Outback and I love it. It's so easy to use, wasn't too difficult to assemble, and was easy to install. I've used it for both my mountain bike (29" tires) and my road bike and it has been awesome. I would definitely recommend this rack!

Stays on our truck all the time; it has a drop-down feature for complete tailgate access. Find it difficult to fold up though.

I must remember to put the front tire arms to the proper position before loading the bikes.
Overall, this rack performed faultlessly on my 3,000 mile trip.

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
Grown tired of hefting mountain bikes on top of our SUV and having to throw muddy wheels in the back, I bought the T2 rack and have been very happy with it so far. It's much easier to throw the bikes on and go whenever the inspiration hits, and they are very secure - no movement whatsoever, even on forest service roads. The rack allows us enough room to load and unload from the back lift-gate, though this is probably vehicle dependent. The only qualms I have about the construction is a bit of stickiness in the latch that adjusts the position of the rack (stowed, locked for bikes, tilted down). Sometimes it won't let me tilt the bikes down and away from the vehicle. I'll try some grease in the mech. Otherwise, I'm pleased with the rack, and I like the locking function.

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
Great bike rack for mountain bikes with odd frames that won't fit the traditional frame mounted bike racks. It is also really good for expensive road bikes (carbon frames) that aren't used to be mounted at the frame. It is also much easier to put a bike on quickly than the traditional frame mounted racks. No need for bungie cords anymore to hold the wheels from spinning. It also hinges down so that you can open up your trunk in an SUV with the bikes on. The only con on this is how heavy it is. Other than that, terrific purchase so far!

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
My husband and I were looking for an easy-to-use bike rack that fits on a hitch, folds upward for storage and locks. This Thule rack is super easy to use and secures bikes firmly in place for longer road trips. The only downside was that we had to put a trailer hitch on our SUV--something we should have done a long time ago. But it was worth it!

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
This is a great rack that is so easy to use. It folds up when not in use and folds down to open the back door. I really like the cable locks that are integrated into the rack. Although the locks are not something that I would leave overnight, they do provide a deterent for short periods. I have used this rack with my road bike, cross country bike and my downhill bike and its fits them all perfectly. The snug-tite receiver lock works very well to eliminate movement of the rack. The only complaint that I have is that they only give you three locks and you need five. So you either have to buy two more with different keys or buy the six pack of locks that thule sells.

Comments about Thule T2 XTR - 2 Bike:
I did a lot of online research before deciding on the Thule x2. The reason I decided on it was that I believed it would be the safest way to transport my bikes - meaning more stable than the hanging bike racks and won't damage my bike, however that makes it heavier. I had it installed at REI for around $20. I recommend doing this, I think it would have taken me twice as long. Also, the rack screws into the hitch, so it's not easily swappable between cars, which was one thing I was looking for. The other pro on this is that it's expandable - you can add another part to hold 2 more bikes. Overall this is a great rack - I get my bike on it in under a minute, and it's super solid in the rack, and safe - no scratching.
