Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
This is the best paddleboard rack I have seen and tried. It's really easy to install, and very easy and quick to load and secure paddleboards. I have two paddleboards, both 34" wide, and they both fit on this rack at the same time perfectly. Makes what used to take 30 minutes to load and tie down now take about 5 minutes. Peace of mind knowing they are locked and the straps are steel reinforced. No more worring about doing an errand and leaving the boards on my car. The only thing I suggest is to glue down the foam pads. They do come off easy or get scrunched up when loading the boards. I glued mine down and now it's not an issue. This is really the best rack for the money! I highly recommend it!

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
The pads do come loose when loading/unloading the board, but easily go back in place. There is a space underneath to tuck the excess strap, but the ends of the straps get stuck and I have already torn the covering on the end of the strap a little.
However, this item is a great idea, it is much easier to use than strapping the board to the roof with regular pads - which means that I can get out on the water faster and more often. It only takes a couple of minutes to load/unload the board (by myself, onto the top of my SUV).

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
Its such a shame that this excellent design is let down by a simple spring that fails to engage the cam on the strap that secures the board. REI should stop selling this product until Thule fixes this potentially dangerous situation.

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
The product has many bad reviews on the web, but I went ahead and gave it a try. The reviews are correct about the straps and locks, after one week the tension spring to lock the strap in place failed and would not secure the strap. If I didn't have another method to strap the board down on the roof rack I would have been in big trouble for my 300 mile drive.
Service and delivery comments:
Product arrived in excellent time.
Customer service wanted me to pay to return the product and beg for reimbursement from REI. After speaking to a supervisor this was promptly cleared up and a shipping label was emailed. This should be the norm and not as difficult to get.

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
This system has cut down on our load-in/load-out times significantly, allowing us to enjoy more time on the water! It almost seems TOO easy to use--but it has not failed us yet. My husband and I are BIG FANS of this SUP rack system. We read that the grey pads come off easily--and that is the only bad thing we have heard so far. To remedy this, we used gorilla glue to secure the pads in place and they won't go ANYWHERE now. Problem solved. We are so thankful for this great SUP carrier and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the sport as much as we do.

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
As an avid Paddleboarder I have tried many different approaches to carrying my SUPs. The Thule SUP Taxi is the best I've tried so far. It is very lightweight making it easy to set up and install. It is also a very stable rack. I usually transport 2 SUPs at a time and travel about 3 hours round trip on the freeway to get to the nearest beach and so far I haven't had any major wobbling yet. As mentioned in the other review the rubber pads that the SUPs rest on are pressed into the rack and are not part of the rack itself. This allows for them to come off from time to time (I've only had 1 come off so far)but adding a little super glue to the bottom and reinstalling them will solve this problem. All in all I give it 2 thumbs up.

Comments about Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier:
I purchased the Thule SUP Taxi a few weeks ago from REI. It installed quickly and seemed easy to use. Upon loading my board for the first time, I quickly learned there was a major flaw in the design. The pads that the board rests on are NOT secured to the rack and come off fairly easily causing you major grief in trying to get them back on while trying to hold your board!
I found this to be completely unacceptable. Within a week, one of the pads blew off while I was driving on the expressway. I contacted Thule and they were very aware of the problem as they have received many complaints and are already making changes to the next model. I suggest waiting for the new model to come out before purchasing. The pads are replaceable and are on back order currently. I am considering just returning the SUP Taxi as it will cause me nothing but grief. Thule offered to send me a replacement pad free of charge, but could not say when it would arrive.
Other than that major issue, it secures my board nicely and is very easy to use. If not for the pad problem, I would probably give it 5 stars. I think they should have tested this product out a little better. Looking forward to an improved version as Thule stated that the next models pads will be molded in.
