Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
I am a 6 foot tall female and have good sized hand but this knife seems like it was made for HUGE HANDS I have problems open and closing with one hand. It is ackward when compared with the Benchmade Mini-griptilian

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
Recently, I bought this knife. It has been a great helping hand, and always seems to get the job done. A scout of mine said his was fantastic. It always comes through for him. I went ahead and bought one for myself. Mine is smooth and works great. The belt clip works great after a little use. This is a great knife to have to do the usual stuff with.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
I have read all the reviews, and I think this knife is perfect for a Boy scout or for anyone that wants a light weight folder, the blade on mine was and is very sharp, the handle is a little on the cheap side, this knife is no Coldsteel recon 1 or benchmade knife, the price reflects that, but it will get the job done!!

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
I regret buying this knife. I bought this "survival" knife as a gift for my son but did not give it to him when I discovered that the steel did not hold an edge compared to my old Gerber knives. After a little use the edge was wavy and dull. It also looks and feels cheesy. The orange is not hunter orange. It is a washed out color like a cheap plastic toy that bleached in the sun. The serrations are so deep that they make that part of the knife useless for anything other than cutting heavy rope . Gerber implies that this is a Boy Scout knife. I have been a scout and a scout leader and I would never recommend this knife to a scout. It looks and feels cheap because it is.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
I bought this knife for my son to take to scout camp. He didn't think it was that great until he got to camp and quickly learned his knife rocked! He used it to complete his projects for the woodcarving merit badge. It was plenty sharp and he was able to use the serrated edge to hog out material. Because the blade has a serrated edge, the boys can't easily sharpen it, which is one thing they love to do at camp. The blade is a little longer than I think a young boy scout needs to be carrying around. But it worked out great.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
Being a big knife knut, I was skeptical about this knife because I have been hearing some not so great things about Gerber lately. Also, the fact that this knife is endorsed by BG also created a lot of disinterest as it seemed like a cheap gimmick. Not knowing or caring anything about Bear, his name or initials on the knife made about as much difference to me as the name Gerber being printed on there. I was looking for a very lightweight, durable, cheap folder that I could use on short hikes. This knife fit the bill amazingly well. I find that i use it as my every day carry knife about three or four times a week. I only recently had to sharpen it, and it took an edge very quickly.
I'm not a fan of knives that are tip-down carry only, but I've gotten used to it with this knife. Also, the rubber on the handle does make the knife tough to quickly get out of the pocket. If you are looking for a quick reacting knife, this isn't it. However, for my purposes, this knife is exactly what I was looking for. I even love the orange color.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Scout Knife:
Great knife for cutting thick rope, flint striking will give you a shower of sparks. Lightweight, and durable. I've used Gerber blades in the past and wasn't too impressed, but this one seems to be holding up fine.
