Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
I'm usually the person who gets cold quickly, but have stayed comfortably warm in these. They are not bulky and they helped keep the wind out while still letting my skin breathe. The waffle fabric lining did rub against my knees a bit (not terribly but a little bothersome) so I prefer to wear shorts or tights as a base layer. I've worn these walking/hiking and showshoeing with temperatures in the mid-20's... am hopeful to venture out next winter in colder weather to see how they do.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
These pants are solidly constructed and if I was still living in Minneapolis area I would keep them. They would also be perfect for winter hikes in the White Mountains. For running, short hikes and short snowshoeing outings in eastern Mass., they are too warm and also pretty bulky. The Mistral soft shell pants with the option of adding a base layer will be more appropriate for my situation. BTW I am 5'9" and 125 lb. and the small was a perfect fit.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
I am very pleased with the look and fit of these pants. I was afraid they would be too bulky after reading the reviews, but they fit nicely and are more flattering than I thought they would be, and the rain shell pants fit fine over them. I got the matching jacket too, and am happy with both. The feel is plush, almost like velveteen. I will wear it walking the dog, hiking, and other outside activities. Just what I hoped for.

Bring it--wind, snow. Great for snowshoeing. Light, comfortable, well-constructed, and tough. Next test: Antarctica in January.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
I LOVE these pants!!! I recently moved to Colorado from Florida - having lived in Florida my whole life - and wondered how I was ever going to survive the winter because I'm not a stay indoors kind of girl. First I bought snowboard pants but my husband said they were a bit much for walking in our neighborhood. Then I found these pants! I don't look like a freak on my daily walks and I am amazed at how warm I stay. I pair them with Mountain Hardware's power stretch tights and honestly, I have walked while it's been snowing and incredibly windy when the temps were in the teens and my legs stayed comfortably warm. I've also used these while biking (16 miles, up and down multiple hills! I'm a commuter) - its great they come with velcro at the bottom of the legs so you can cinch them tighter. But my favorite part is how durable they are. I wear these nearly every other day and they are holding up so much better than the other gear I've purchased. And they are comfortable enough I can wear them around the house too! I just wish they came in other colors - tan would be so great!!! - and it would be nice if they didn't have the different fabric on the inside near the ankles so they could look even more like regular pants! Btw I'm 5'5, weigh 135 lbs and the small fit perfectly! Truly they are worth every penny!!!

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
Great pants; warm, comfortable, and still look like casual pants rather than PJs.
But I had to return them because I could not make the 32 in inseam work. They are stiff enough at the bottom that they would just perch on top of my shoes/boots rather than floating down like any other 32in pants I own.
Ended up getting Men's 30 in inseam version that does not fit quite right at the top, but still looks much better over all. Nothing worse then pants that make you look like you shrunk. And I'm 5'7" (size 12) ...
Should work for tall but slim individuals ...

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
These are incredible pants. Very lightweight for how warm they are. I haven't worn them in really cold weather, but I would expect wearing some silk long underwear under these would get you by. These are extremely soft and comfortable. I'm 5'4" 120 lbs and the SMALL fits with plenty of room for the silkies underneath. They are a bit long for me by at least 2 inches, but there is no way I'm sending these back!

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Women's:
We are out daily walking the dogs regardless of weather and these pants have been greatly enjoyed. They are windproof and warm. I'll wear them 'as is' down to ~30 deg and will add a pair of thermals for colder temps. The exterior of the pants is a very short nap fleece while the interior is a grid like texture. The interior is not as soft as I had expected but it is comfortable enough to wear. Only annoyance is the snap at the waist comes undone fairly easily but there is a tab closure as well to help keep them closed. I may end up buying a second pair in the near future.

I love this pant! A lot.. Warm and blocks wind well. The inside is soft. Looks nice enough to sport around town after a walk in the woods on a cold day. It is compatible with a wide range of footwear and is long enough in a small enough size! Well made and excellent value.
Service and delivery comments:
Awesome, fast, excellent service. Thanks, REI!

I used these pants under wind breaker pants(did not need long underwear)in Big Sky skiing zero to 10 degrees in perfect comfort
These pants fit well and comfortable enough to not only wear skiing, but as casual wear post skiing.
I cannot say that there is a thing wrong with them.
