  • Sharp-looking, ripstop polyester shell, with a Durable Water Repellent finish, blocks the wind and resists tears and abrasion
  • Finer details include top-quality 800-fill-power goose down, a quilted-through construction, nylon-bound elastic cuffs and a drawcord hem

    I had been shopping REI's selection of down jackets for some time, going from brand to brand and down to synthetic.

    I ultimately ended up selecting this one for several reasons:

    1.) Very warm; but not TOO warm that I'd overheat
    2.) Super breathable; I stay warm but never to the point of sweating
    3.) Very stylish; being that I chose black I can wear it to work as well as on the weekends
    4.) Build quality/stitching; it's very well made and should hold up for many years

    All in all a fantastic choice for someone who's looking for not just a warm/comfortable/stylish, but an everyday jacket as well!

      I rode my bike in 19-degree weather this morning and was very warm. I felt no wind, even around the collar. I can't believe how light this jacket is. When the weather gets colder, I plan to use it under my winter coat, in which it fits well without feeling constricted anywhere.
