Comments about Grand Trunk Silk Sleep Sack - Special Buy:
Nice feeling of silk! But chosen fabric is vulnerable with developing holes and tears.
It's the thinnest available Habotai silk - 5 mm (mommes not millimeters), you can almost read through it, looks even thinner than my 5 mm Habotai sample. Not strong enough to go through washer and dryer many times, especially with stupidly attached (by designer/manufacturer) stuff sack with the big plastic cord lock which alone can damage the silk when rotating and hitting/scratching. Cut this little bag off to prolong a life of silk.
"Added warmth up to 10F" in description is a joke; don't rely on it, too thin.
Short liner - after some usage/washing/drying - silk shrinks in length (more) and in width (less), it's barely enough for a shortie like me - 5'8".
Final note: heavily overpriced simple product with not long lifetime. It's less than 10 bucks to produce it in China with fabric/labor/etc. To make it is not a rocket science and I can sew it myself (next time), just buy on line 4 yards of silk Habotai/Twill/Crepe/.. (twice thicker for longer life ~ 10 mm) for 20-25 bucks and enjoy custom made liner for my sleeping bag, etc. I don't know quality and thickness of silk in Cacoon and Sea to Summit liners (might be 8 mm or still 5 mm), but their design is better than Grand Trunk, though prices are still too high.

This product is one thin layer of silk. It's a bag for about half it's length then two layers of silk with ties that you can then tie together to form the rest of a bag-like shape.
Good luck getting 10 degrees out of a layer of silk so thin that you can see through it. The silk is not that soft so the comfort aspect is not that enticing either.
If your looking for a liner to use in a hostel then this would be OK, but if your looking for something to add versatility to your current sleep system look elsewhere. This one will probably go back for me.

I originally bought the sock to give to my sister who is abroad in Africa. She left before the order came in, so it warranted a field test; I might buy her the pink one. I use it alone in my hammock on top of my REI pad during the summer and sleep wonderfully along the Shenandoah. I've used it in the winter as a liner for my +20 bag, only a little bit of bunchiness. I find that even at home it's a good thing to have when the room is hot, the fan is blowing, and you need something to keep you from getting chilled while you sleep. Silk is an amazing material, worth the discounted price. I can only say that for my 5' 10'' frame its more silk than I need. Please make a mummy size bag w/o the giant pillow pocket. (You can pull that pocket over your head and keep out the dawn while your coffee brews, I suppose that's a plus)

I almost dicarded it- it's so small it looked like an add flier. It's a single layer of silk sewn into a STRONG rectangular bag liner. It folds to energy bar size & seems to weigh nothing. I used it the first night at home in bed- Hubby is always warmer than me & I usually wake to get a topper blanket- not that night- it did the job of my down comforter. As I get older I'm replacing minimalist with comfort & this is good for both types of campers.

Got one of these for my GF. She loved it! When she doesn't use it as a sleeping bag liner, she uses it for business travel. She said that she actually sleeps better with one of these because she says it keeps bed bugs away.
