      Don't know what the last reviewer is talking about. Maybe his is defective but mine works flawlessly. Only con I can think of is the price. But MSR ain't cheap. This is one of those things that I always catch myself trying to put it in the pack when backpacking. It's just really not necessary and more of a luxury item. But for camping it goes in the cooler everytime.

        I like MSR, the Company, they make many excellent products but this one is a huge step backward. I bought the new model as a replacement for my 10+ year old original and I'm sorry I did. It just doesn't work. With even the lightest squeeze of the handle the spatula folds over on itself.

        Do yourself a favor and go find the original model, which has a simple locking mechanism. This holds for the large spoon as well. And sorry, but who needs a strainer - which is included in a three item set (i.e., spatula, spoon, strainer).
