        This was the first paddle I bought for myself, and I have not been disappointed. I love how lightweight it is and the shape of the blades. I don't feel like I'm scooping a bunch of extra water.

        I'm a fairly novice paddler, but have already logged many hours and miles with this paddle and am completely comfortable with it. I have a sea kayak and only paddle in salt water, and the paddle cleans up nicely. It is prone to scratches when I capsize (planned events aimed at perfecting rescues), but a little wax helps minimize the scuffs.

        An added benefit is the paddle is beautiful; people often comment on it.

          I am new to kayaking and quickly discovered the benefits of lighter weight paddles - those ounces make a difference. I liked this paddles hybrid mix of lightweight materials and beautiful wood.

            Love this paddle. It has helped take me on quite a few kayakin trips. It has taken abuse from me quite well. I have not been very easy on this paddle. My only complaint is the giant logo. Which I can live with. I don't recommend sanding the logo off. It would be to easy to sand into the very lightweight fiberglass cloth which would decrease its strength.

              Really Nice Lightweight paddle, But WHY does every company need to put their logo in the largest letters possible whereever they can. NOT SHOWN in the REI Photos is the Huge "Bending Branches" Logo on the other side of the paddle, I hate being a billboard. Plus it ruins the lovely woodwork, I will eventually Sand it off and refinish the paddle.
