Comments about GSI Outdoors Macro Table:

We bought this table 5 years ago, and it has served us well. It's got the packed size and weight one would almost expect from backpacking gear, and certainly fits the campground camper who likes comforts and camps from a very small car like myself. (Incl the bag it's about 25x5x2.5.) We use it like a coffee table or game table at our campsite most of all, it's big enough for many portable games + some drinks at 24x18. With the legs all the way up, it's a good height for chair-in-a-bag or captain's camp chairs, with the legs half folded in it's perfect for sitting on the ground at the beach or music in the park type event. It's easy to clean being aluminum, and the small gaps keep water from pooling up on it with moisture or drink spills. It is a lightweight camp addition, it's very compact design when packed is a huge plus, but it suffers from the tiny bit of inconvenience that some backpacking versions of camping gear often do. But if you're taking it camping, my recommendation is to put the table tap on a flat surface or at least the ground to slide the poles that hold it together in an out. You have to remove the poles, fold in the legs and THEN put the poles in the C hooks that hold them in place when you disassemble. I'd easily recommend this table as a gift for a regular camper, beachgoer, and/or the kind of festivals where you bring your own stuff and have a picnic and a listen for a few hours.

Comments about GSI Outdoors Macro Table:

This table is very small and lightweight, but it's a pain to set up. You have to feed two tiny metal rods through each table slat, which has been an exercise in frustration every time I've done it.

Also, the table broke on our second camping trip because someone sat on it. The table clearly wasn't designed to be sat on, but it does look kind of like a chair when it's set up, which is a design flaw I hadn't even considered. My next table will be taller so no one mistakes it for a sittable surface.
