The REI Nevis women's jacket is a story in versatility. On a cold morning, start off with the full jacket, then, as the day warms, remove the hood and sleeves and use it as a core-warming vest.

Nevis works well as a stand-alone jacket or vest in dry conditions and layers easily underneath a shell in wet weather; plus, the stylish quilt patterning always looks great
Pertex® Microlight Eco ripstop nylon shell and lining are lightweight and durable, and offer silky softness that enhances the insulation's loft; windproof to 50 mph
Insulated with high-performance, water-resistant PrimaLoft® Eco synthetic microfiber to provide soft, non-bulky warmth for very little weight
Hypoallergenic Eco fibers come from recycled plastic bottles
Sleeves zip off to convert jacket to a vest, and fully adjustable hood zips off to save weight
Keep track of the hood and sleeves by stashing them inside the interior zip lumbar pocket; this pocket also double as a stuff sack and makes a nice pillow in a pinch
Windflap backs front zipper; chin guard protects against zipper abrasion
Features a hem drawcord; stretch inner cuffs reduce wind entry
REI Nevis jacket features zip handwarmer pockets and a zippered interior pocket with headphone port

Love how this one piece does it all! Has a hood that zips off to make a regular jacket, sleeves that zip off to make a vest, and the whole thing packs in on itself to make more room or a pillow. Great bang for the buck.

I bought this jacket on sale after Christmas for a light and warm run around jacket. Unexpectedly, I got caught in a downpour on a 20 minute walk. The only dry parts of me after the walk, were the parts covered by my jacket! I'm small (5'1) and the XS fits perfectly, even with a sweater. This jacket is great for going to work, walks in the forest, and running around town. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, so it's a YES on the recommendation!

I got this for my wife. She is never warm. Never. So I got this for her since she wanted a puffy vest. It converts into a full-on jacket if she needs it. In jacket mode she actually got hot! She's never hot! She freezes in the shade in 60 degree days, but not anymore. She also is happy the hood zips off and the color is great.

Just like it says, this jacket is so versatile. I wore it skiing under a shell and stayed toasty warm. Zipped off the sleeves and wore it at home with just a turtleneck under. It's long enough in the body for me (5'6" tall), a bit tailored to fit your curves and good looking, too. The only con is that that zipping the sleeves back on can be a bit tricky but you can get the hang of it pretty quick.

I've wanted this jacket since my cousin wore the beautiful name-brand version at her own wedding. It was gorgeous over her wedding dress, and I've been so jealous since. I've been looking for a knockoff everywhere, and this one had the soft fabric and good fit I really wanted, plus the price was right. I wear it all the time, it's so comfy. It's a little weird that both the sleeves and hood are detachable, but the zippers are discreet and well-covered, so it's fine. It could be a little longer to cover the awkward back gap when I sit, but other than that, it's true love.

I bought this jacket for its flexibility and I love the style. The hood and sleeves zip off so you can wear is as a vest on cool days and also easily layer under a shell. I have worn this jacket around the town and under my ski shell. It fits well and the sleeves are actually long enough for me. It has good range of motion while maintaining a tailored fit. It is also packable and easily compresses and stows in carry-on luggage for travel. This jacket is my go-to in almost all situations.

This jacket is nice for commuting by bike because it packs down small and fits in my bike bag so I can have it available if I get cold. It's very comfortable, and I love the vest feature as well.

Because of the ability to remove the sleeves I bought this jacket for hiking, but I like it so much I am wearing it everywhere. I really like its versatility--I've had the sleeves off and I've used the hood. Yes, the sleeves are a bit long but I like it that way. I can pull my hands up into the sleeves for warmth if I need it and when my arms are stretched out the length is perfect.

I bought this jacket specifically to take to Berlin, when I knew it would be cold, rainy and snowing. This is the perfect jacket with which to travel - it is compact and rolls up nicely. The ability to remove the sleeves definitely counters the lack of breathability, so no real issues for me there. It's nice to be able to remove the hood as well if need be. The toggles helped me adjust the hood to stay on in the wind since I have a small head. I love all of the pockets and how deep they are, and I felt safe having the zippers on them.
This is the perfect, casual, comfortable, cold/wet/snowy weather jacket :)
