Comments about Sea to Summit Kayak Cart:
Kayaks have smooth hulls - so finding any carrier that will attach easily and roll without slipping is a challenge. Choose your attachment point or strapping point from the boat to the kayak to best keep the tie down straps from slipping.
If you are carrying your boat solo or packing multiple boats to the shore over uneven ground then a kayak carrier is a help. In large stone or very rough ground, you will still probably have to hand carry the boat.

Comments about Sea to Summit Kayak Cart:
I have to offload my kayak on the street and haul it up a steep driveway to store in my garage, so I use this cart at least twice every time I take my kayak out. This is a narrow cart and fits a touring kayak It would not be wide enough for a recreational kayak. The first few times I tried to set the kayak on it, it collapsed so be sure you mark FRONT to make it easy on yourself. I love that the tie down straps are permanently attached. It's so easy to secure the kayak to the cart and take off. The wheels are good but not great. They make for easy hauling on smooth surfaces but on non-level or rocky surfaces, they often get stuck. Not good on sand but I'd have bought a different cart if I expected to have to cart over sand frequently. It doesn't take up much room once you collapse it and it's easy to take apart for stowing in the hatch.

Comments about Sea to Summit Kayak Cart:
Not as good on rough terrain as the larger boat cart but it is stow-able in a kayak hatch so better for a tour with portages. seems more rugged with the aluminum frame and sturdy tires than the other carts in the [...] store.

Comments about Sea to Summit Kayak Cart:
After trying to use a homemade kayak cart that kept giving me troubles, I finally decided to buy one.
I couldn't be happier with this cart. It is super easy to use, and my kayak doesn't ever fall over or slip off. One big bonus of this cart is how portable it becomes once taken apart, and it literally can be taken apart in seconds. It fits easily into my rear hatch, and i'm off on the lake.
My only wish was that the rubber pieces were a little bigger, but overall no biggie. The overall design works perfectly so far.

Comments about Sea to Summit Kayak Cart:
I bought this cart because the large diameter inflatable wheels looked like it would make launches easier on rocky areas. Unfortunately the rocks would catch the wheels and pull or twist the cart off the kayak no matter how tight I made the strap.
It was difficult to seat the kayak on the cart, and kayak would also tend to roll on this cart. The cart does not have a deep V to solve these problems.
Im sticking to a cart that has a strap/hook to attach to the kayak cockpit lip, so the cart wont slide off the kayak.
I have a big 17.5' kayak which weighs 58 lbs. You may have better luck with a smaller kayak with a flatter hull.

Its tough and from what I can tell will last a while handles rough conditions and terrain.
