Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I was able to get these boots broken in fast: I wore them around camp on a two day car-camping trip, then I took them on a seven mile hike. They were completely broken in and comfortable after that.
I just took them on a two day backpacking trip. Traction on rocks and steep slopes was fantastic. I recovered from several potential falls, and the high ankle supports provided very good stability against roots and the like.
It was over 90 degrees during both afternoons, but my feet didn't get too sweaty (at least, not any more sweaty than the rest of my apparel).
Nearing the end of the journey, I would have to say that my feet were one of the least sore parts of my body. However, the last 2.5 miles of the trip involved more than 2000 feet of elevation loss, and that's where I developed my first and only blisters of the trip. There isn't quite enough toe room, and you'll feel it on those long downhill sections.

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
Great pair of boots!! Bought them about a month ago and really hadn't worn them more than around town until this past weekend.. I hiked twenty miles with a full pack and snowshoes most of the time in the ADK high peaks and they felt great.. feet stayed dry and cool and I didnt have any problems with blsters due to a lack of breaking them in. Very comfortable boot!!

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots are extremely light and comfortable, however the soles are extremely flexible and thin feeling. Would wear for light hiking but not with any weight on my back or on rocky terrain

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
Walked several miles turkey hunting and right out of the box my feet stayed very comfortable. Less support than some boots but perfect if not on difficult terrain.
Make sure to get 1/2 size larger than normal.

Great boots so far. They kept my feet dry and comfy on a recent hike through the Shenandoah. I never thought about my feet once, which was a good sign that they were doing thier job correctly.

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
Hiked ~40 miles over 6 days in a variety of conditions in UT and AZ: 5 mile snowshoe trip up to 12,000 ft, backpacking in the Zion wilderness, day hikes around other national parks/monuments. These boots were on my feet the whole time. Not one blister/sore/sign of discomfort. Only issue with water was when my gaiters slipped up and dumped some snow inside, and even then I was surprised at how well they handled the moisture. Almost completely dried out by the time we were back to camp. I had read some other reviews about the shoe feeling weak on rough terrain but I didn't experience this at all. I think Keen just won me for life.

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
A previous review mentioned the absorbency of the leather on this boot. A treatment with DWR and water just beads up. I am still in the break in period with about 40 miles on them so far. Comfortable from the start. I use a good heat mold-able foot bed (not the manufacturer's foot bed) in all my boots to make the fit perfect for my very odd and easily blistered feet. Happy with these Keens so far! Looking forward to trying them in some Utah slot canyons in a couple of months.

Comments about Keen Gypsum Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I have tried several hiking boots, but non compared to the Keen! I just completed a 7 day trek to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was a grueling adventure to say the least.
My Keen (Gypsum) responded like a true champion! Walking through the rain forest, climbing over rocks and rugged paths, 6-7 hours of walking daily, and freezing temperatures at the summit. Through it all, the books stood up to the test! Did not have any blisters or suffer from sore feet. Others in my group had problems with their boots.
