The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Yakima HighLite 2 Hitch Bike Rack:
We bought it because it could be used on both car and truck hitches with an included adaptor. It has traveled over 1500 miles with us in the short time we've had it (one month) and performed very well on 80+mph highways and rough dirt roads alike. I did end up buying the crossbar adaptor as my mountain bike does not have a horizontal top bar and would recommend it. Love the locking feature to the car hitch and integrated bike lock.

Comments about Yakima HighLite 2 Hitch Bike Rack:
I previously owned the heavier Double Down hitch, which was just too woobly and it's now gone. Got this and like it much better, way lighter and very stable. My only complaint, and the reason it doesn't get five stars, it that it's difficult to install. The new technology/engineering to secure it in the hitch is much better (no bolt), however, getting the thing into the hitch takes some patience/effort. All in all, a great improvement if they would just make it easier to install.

Comments about Yakima HighLite 2 Hitch Bike Rack:
First rack.... I purchased this at the same time I bought my new bike, and purchased a bike for my wife as well. It's a very good looking rack, and I like the ease swing out, installation, and for sure the integrated bottle openers! The ONLY thing I regret is that it fits a smaller hitch as well as a 2" hitch. Mine is a two inch. You crank the knob on the end to pull this wedge thing inside to tighten it inside the hitch. This stabilizes it for the most part, but it still rocks a little back and forth on bumps and when turning, no matter how tight I make it. I tighten to the point I worry i will strip the threads or break the knob. Also, the skinny little insert that is for the smaller hitch, I guess 1 1/4" or so seems weak - no proof of this so far, but it just looks weak. It also causes the rack to not sit precisely center behind my Grand Cherokee. Not very noticeable, but it is to me. You can only load 70lbs on the rack as well, so you need to make sure you have light bikes to carry. In addition, it came from the factory with the rubber bike holders on the opposite sides. I had to remove the bottle openers and swap them to place the bikes on the rack per the instructions, with the first bike with the chain facing outward. I will check yes, that I would recommend it to a friend, because it is attractive and very light. But I will also let them know they need light bikes, and that I do not like the adjustable receiver hitch insert. If I had it to do all over again, I myself would by a dedicated 2" receiver hitch rack, with the appropriate size hole to use my own locking hitch lock.
