    REI Stoke 9 Pack - Special Buyis rated4.2368out of5by38.
Rated3out of5byfromPretty good hydration pack w/ some useless pocketsPros: super comfortable (at least with an Osprey bladder). Even with a hydration bladder completely full, the hip belt makes it feel like you're hardly carrying anything. I have a fairly short torso length, but I also wear this on the outside of motorcycle gear in the winter, so the straps all expand quite a bit. The primary and secondary zip compartments are useful, and the emptier your hydration bladder is, the more you can fit in the primary compartment. Even when your reservoir is full, you can still fit enough in this thing for a long day hike - light first aid kit, multi-tool, personal survival kit, and a couple of energy bars. The shock cord makes it easy to secure a light jacket to the pack. Cons: the central mesh pocket is useless. I have never put anything in this because it seems like stuff would fall or get tossed out very easily, even if you cinch the shock cord down. The side mesh pockets can store small items, but beware - the bottoms of these pockets are open!! If you wanted to stash something small like a tube of lip balm in there, it could easily fall out the bottom. No idea what they were thinking on these. I use them to carry tissues. It is hard to fit an Osprey bladder in this. I have to fight with it to get a full bladder into it. If they had made the pack just a smidge taller and wider, it would be much easier. I've had mine for about 8 months and it seems to be wearing fine - no seams coming loose or anything. The carry handle on the top seems robust. Bottom line: if you're looking for a bargain hydration pack (I bought mine on sale) and don't mind some difficulty getting a full reservoir in it nor a couple of useless outside pockets, get this. It's comfy, and beats carrying a full sized daypack for a hike.

Rated4out of5byfromI highly recommend this productThis product has been great for both short and long distance runs. I choose this bag for quick day trips because of its size and pocket organization. It easily holds a hand towel, sunscreen, food, water and a head lamp. The reservoir must be purchased separately, but it has been easy to find the correct size reservoir for the pack. The straps are comfortable and distribute weight evenly. The only issue I have run into is that one of the elastic straps on the front has pulled from the seam. This isn't enough for me to complain. I highly recommend this pack to both runners and half-day hikers.

Rated3out of5byfromStoke 9This pack is very light and you almost don't know it's there. My only concern is the 2 outer pockets, they don't hold a water bottle. Plus it is not a complete pocket, small items or keys can fall out the bottom. I used it, along with my wife (bought 2) during a 5 mile hike. It was fine but I will look at another pack with more room. 3 stars because of pockets.

Rated3out of5byfromGood, but too smallI like the idea of this backpack, but it just doesn't cut it for a daypack. Fitting a small moleskin notebook, a waterbottle, a pair of glasses and a book seem to overcrowd this small backpack. This works fine for some days, but when I want to have rain gear plus any other items I may need in a day pack, I can't fit them.

Rated5out of5byfromConvenient, Good SizeSo far I've used it on one 2 week vacation and it was much easier to carry and drink a lot of water throughout the day in a hot climate than it is carrying a water bottle of the same size. The multiple pockets were really convenient to separate the smaller items from getting lost at the bottom of the bag. Overall the storage space was roomy but the bag still doesn't look bulky - this is my favorite part about the bag - I could fit a travel guide, phone, snack, hat, into the main compartment and a sweater under the band on the outside. The waist strap helps take the weight off your shoulder if you fill it up. The one con I've noticed is that the drinking hose can get pinched while getting it out to the shoulder strap, and can get twisted as well (so it doesn't lie flat across your chest). Especially if you need to take the bladder in and out a lot this requires a bit of time to adjust.

Rated4out of5byfromGood value but smallI use this for half or full day hikes. It is quite comfortable, lightweight and a good bargain at the price I paid. But it is somewhat tooo small for what I would need on a full day hike. I would also like to see more pockets on the sides and straps.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat little packI mostly use this for biking, commuting to work in particular. For a longer ride, you can put in a hydration bladder, but for riding to work I can cram a pair of rain pants into the hydration compartment and fit a light jacket and my lunch into the main compartment. You could also bungee a jacket to the outside pretty easily. The top pocket is perfect for keys/wallet/phone, etc. If I were going to change one thing about this pack, it would be the exterior pockets, particularly the side ones. They're too small to really put anything in them and be confident it will stay there; if they were taller they'd be of a little more use. Overall I really like this pack and it's a great value for the money.

Rated5out of5byfromREI Stoke 9 PackI had been looking for a very lightweight day pack for my mountain hikes that would carry necessary items like snacks, kerchiefs and the like. I found it in this pack. Best of all...I hardly know it is on my back. It has plenty of room, yet is very light.
