Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5 Tent - Special Buy:
I have 2 of these tents. I've taken it backpacking 3 times, twice in New Mexico's Gila Wilderness and once in Colorado's Weminuche Wilderness. I haven't had any issues. I keep my pack in the tent with me when I sleep. You could probably fit 2 people in it, but it'd be a little cramped. In Colorado on the last night, I though the forest was going to collapse around me, it was storming so hard. Not a drop of water got in. It has also stood up to strong wind. The guide lines for the fly are a little annoying to get right but not really a big deal. Had to buy a replacement fly for one of the tents (I bought them used and one didn't come with a fly). I get it directly from Alps with no issue and it was fairly inexpensive. I'd recommend this tent to anyone.

I sue this tent for both backpack camping, and motorcycle camping. Plenty of room for me and a backpack. Have been in rain, no leaks. Sets up quickly

Nice Lightweight 1 man tent w/ room for a full size internal frame backpack to go inside with you.
The tent sets up in minutes, but could use better instructions. Glad I found a YouTube video before hand or I might not have known to stake down the points by the rods first to make it stand on it's own (i.e. not collapse.)
Very good and easy to use rainfly, it simply clicks into place once the tent's up. You can have it anywhere from fully closed up to extremely open to get a good cross breeze through the tent. Great for camping in the heat and humidity or keeping the wind out on a cold night.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5 Tent - Special Buy:
I purchased to go trekking in Tibet. I used this tent 12 days and saw a little rain. I stayed dry and had no condensation problems. I had enough room to move comfortably and store my backpack inside the tent. I used again for 3 days in Zion Canyon as a 2 man tent. I am 6' and 180 lbs and the other person was a little smaller. A little cramped but it worked and we split the weight in our packs-one person with the tent and one with the fly and poles/stakes. In a perfect world this tent would be 1/2 pound lighter, freestanding and the same price. Great tent overall.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5 Tent - Special Buy:
I wanted to wait till I had used the tent several times before writing a review. I just got back from a weekend trip where I was pounded with rain on the last night. Not only did I stay completely dry, but my gear stayed dry in the vestibules. Ventilation is excellent, no condensation build up at all. I bought the 1.5 man because I hike with 2 of my dogs, and car camp with all 3: one dog in each vesti, and my little one accounts for the half man. The tent has to be staked out to be setup, so don't plan on a rocky pitch unless you have plenty of cord to use with rocks. Overall it's a great tent, I haven't tried it in the winter yet, but I'm sure I will...

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5 Tent - Special Buy:
I just used this tent backpacking all around the big island and this thing is great. The features, quality, and space this provides can only be described as luxurious. Yes, it isn't freestanding, and it does weigh 4lb's, but look at this price, [$]?I've owned tents made by Marmot and REI, and this thing is the perfect balance of space, comfort, and functionality for the 4lb tent range. It has plenty of room for gear inside the tent and you can fit just about anything else you can carry in it's double vestibules. You can get amazing airflow in case it is hot with it's double doors/vestibules open and rolled up. Kept me dry as can be in pouring Hawaiian rains with zero condensation. More than enough room to sit up and change your clothes. Sturdy as hell, this thing will handle some serious winds, especially with the guy lines in place. If you are with a lovely lady friend (or man friend) and don't mind getting real cozy, this can easily be a 2 person tent, unless you're both 6' tall or something. It's totally plausible, and that makes it 2lb's per person! I will definitely keep this tent happily, but I'll be saving up for a single person tent under 2lb's. If you don't mind the weight and have place to put stakes in, you've got yourself the best tent for your money.

set up was easy, a little cramped in the foot area,( I am 6'4" with size 14 boots), venting was OK, rained a little with no problems, looks like a keeper...

Lightweight, easy to set up and big enough for two people. The extra length allows nice storage inside the tent. Would be nice if it were free standing but can't beat it for the sale price.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Mystique 1.5 Tent - Special Buy:
I purchased this tent with motorcycle camping in mind. I needed something that packs very small and lightweight to fit into my saddlebags.
I'm 6'2" and about 195# now (was 225# on the last ride) and needed the extra space. The 1.5 was perfect and I could fit all of my gear inside.
On the first ride last year, this little tent was perfect. It packed well and when set up, it withstood 40+ mph winds all night. While it's not free standing, it wasn't difficult to set up.
The price was very right on REI Outlet compared to all the other tents and the only 1.5 that I could find. In fact, everything I needed from stove to sleeping bag was avialable on REI.
Can't wait to do that again!

Great tent for me. Love the dual doors and vestibules. Lots of space for all my gear for 7 - 10 day trips. can get it all under the vestibules for rain, ice etc.
Never had a condensation problem up to 11,000 feet.
