With a few inches of extra width, the REI Comfort Lounger XL chair provides spacious luxury and complete adjustability, from fully upright to fully reclined.
- Quick-drying, breathable mesh fabric and ripstop polyester fabric are suspended from the frame with high-tension elastic cord, for the utmost in outdoor comfort
- Mesh fabric provides soft yet firm support and will not collect water during an afternoon rain shower
- Headrest and lumbar pads slide up and down, allowing you to customize your comfort; pads are attached to the chair so they won't get lost
- Steel frame is strong and durable; powder coating and stainless hardware resist rust and corrosion and keep the frame looking nice for years of use

This chair is very comfortable. The position locks work very well. The cushions are very comfortable. It's a heavy chair so I wouldn't recommend carrying it very far. If you have room it would be a great car camping chair. I bought it for our back deck to relax in. The mesh materials is very breathable and comfortable. My only wish is that it reclined just a little bit farther.

I have the old lounge chair with a case the chair is heavy but then agin it's not for backpacking this chair setup easy and comfortable. But due to its weight it needs a case to carry it.

This chair is perfect for the Deshutes in August and September when it gets really hot.
It has a mesh fabric that lets the breeze flow through with ease.
It's so comfortable I slept on it one night.
The adjustable head and lumbar supports are a great feature.

Of course it is heavy and big but you have to know that just by looking at it.
But has there been a camp chair built in this millenium (especially for this price) that doesn't have a cup holder? The $5 cheapos ones have a cup holder. Not this one.
Also if you are reclined with the recliner 'locked' and you decide to sit up the locks don't hold and it ratchets down. Not sure if that is by design or what but I am not a big fan. But all in all the thing is a big comfy recliner, excellent comfort, lumbar and head pillow. I can sleep on this thing - it is awesome. It doesn't lay flat but I didn't really expect it to.

Like floating on air. Took it to the beach and everyone wanted to use it. One of my friends went out and purchased this chair after we returned from our trip. It is a bit heavy however the comfort and multiple adjustment positions outweigh this con. Very good buy!

This has been a really good chair for me. I purchased this lounger and a very similar Kelty lounger last year. They were both comfortable. The REI lounger has held up well to regular use, while the Kelty lounger failed at one of the metal supports.
The REI lounger is a really nice item. Its comfortable, sturdy, durable, dries quickly and looks good too.

This review applies to both the regular and XL size chairs.
Almost a very comfortable chair. However, I'm 6'1", and the headrest pillow does not go high enough. This is actually OK when fully reclined, but not so great when sitting upright. In its highest position I'd need to squat down (like being in an airline seat), which does not make for the best posture.
One workaround is to remove the headrest pillow when sitting upright, but it's a bear to put back on, and you really need it when fully reclined, otherwise your head hits the crossbar.

One of the most comfortable chairs I have ever had. Both head rest and lumbar supports are
adjustable so can be moved to the place that is most comfortable. We have had this chair for one day, and have had much bargaining and a few "battles" over which of the 5 of us get to use it next. Perfect for wide range of sizes, from older kids to adults. We will be buying another one(or two...) very soon.
