Rated5out of5byarakal23fromMore room than expectedSuper comfortable. Even bursting at the seems with stuff in it, it still didn't budge on shaky rock climbs. Incredibly lightweight. I packed a weeks worth of stuff in this easily. The water bladder holding pocket is also a great advantage. This is my go to pack for long day trips. I love the numerous pockets. This is my favorite of the 5 pack options I own.

Rated5out of5bytelohmanfromgood things come in small packagesI had almost given up on finding the right pack for day hikes; here is why this one works for me:
1) the side pockets are deep enough that my camelbak water bottles stay secure,
2) the main compartment is large enough to hold my Nikon SLR with extra lens as well as snacks,
3) the essential-to-me waist straps have pockets which make them more comfortable than just the straps that rubbed against me (and convenient for chapstick, too!).
While the size of the zipper opening for the main compartment makes it a little tight to retrieve my camera, I preferred the more top-loading style of the pack.
BTW- I just returned from a 12-day trip to Israel and used this as my carry-on as well as my daypack. It did get a little warm on my back since it is frameless, but it was worth it for the lightweight comfort and the size was more convenient navigating the crowded shopping streets of the Old City than on my previous visit with my larger Kelty pack.

Rated5out of5byMaukafromPerfectly compactI was looking for a lightweight backpack to use on short hikes. It had to have space for my Camelbak and pockets on the outside for extra bottles of water. I wanted a small pocket for keys and pockets on the waist belt for easy access to small snacks and pocket size sun screen. I wanted space for my food and extra clothes. I didn't think it was too much to ask for! I was surprised how hard it was to find such a backpack until I found this one. It had everything I wanted and I loved the color. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear. I use it for day hikes and when I travel. It fits perfectly under an airline seat. I can't say enough good things about it and haven't found any cons.

Rated5out of5byGC GuidefromGrand Canyon Day HikeI used this product on a hiking trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. We went in August so we had to deal with heat and the threat of a monsoon rolling in. We didn't need much in the way of clothing but it was more than sufficient for handling a small poncho, water bladder, electrolyte bottle, squirt bottle to keep cool and a change of clothes including water shoes. Left enough room for toiletries and a first aid kit. Of the 25 years I have been leading these groups this was the most functional pack i have ever had. If the weather was cooler I would require a larger pack so this one is very seasonal for this occasion and all the day hikes you want to do.

Rated4out of5bycjtezakfromNice little packNice little day pack I bought to replace an old REI trek that has become my trail work pack to be slowly destroyed. I have become a big Gregory fan because I have a Baltoro 70 that I adore. This little guy is great for a day hike or as a hydration pack for a bike ride. Lots of space for a small bag with good flexibility in pockets. Even for a small pack it also has good hip straps for support.

Rated4out of5byInland NWesterfromLike a Soft PocketBought this for myself. Poured over the racks of packs at local REI store and this one 'fit the bill' for my intended principle use of day hikes and as a bag companion for extended air travel. It's lighweight enough to be comforable, can handle a hydration system and cinches up at several points for those who may like to run while wearing it. The cinch across the chest is adjustable 'up and down' by way of a small sliding piece...nice. The sides have two small zipper pockets for 'stuff.' Depending on your size, your arms may brush against these on either side while walking which can be a bit annoying. Iit would be a bit better if it had a small 'net' on the outside to add a shirt or light jacket on the outside. I found this item for less $$ on competing web sites, but shipping brought the price back up to near the REI price. To avoid the delay and hassle, I walked out of my local REI "Miwok Ready." I've used this for one hike and overall am pleased with this item.

Rated4out of5byHiker01fromgreat pack for day hikinggreat pack for day hiking. The outer pack is great for packing items like a light jacket or bananas which are difficult to pack because they smash easily. With the outer open pack, it stores them really well.

Rated5out of5byDavid SCfromOverall Great Daypack!!Really great bag! I felt the compartment was a little tight and believe it's actually 16.5 liters not 18 as listed on the bag. Besides the lack of a little extra space the bag wears great. It moves with your body so feels a lot more comfortable.
