This bag has a strap on top to hold another bag which is getting hard to find. They say they will fix it if it breaks. It looks like it will last.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac 22 Wheeled Luggage - 22'':
This is a great piece of luggage. I have traveled the world and used this every time. It holds plenty and expands if needed. I really like that the zip top is a separate compartment, I use that to store my business travel clothes.
The outer pockets are very slim, but they are not intended for bulky items, mostly just paper item like a magazine or travel info/documents. The extending handle is nice and light weight, so I imagine if you try to lift and twist a fully loaded bag with the handle extended you could damage it, but it has enough other handles that you really shouldn't to do that. The bag-strap has now been improved and clips onto the top of the bag, so it should not get lost anymore.
It is a bit pricey, so wait for a 20% off deal to buy and you will love it.

Product is light weight but well constructed. Modest expansion capabilities, but sufficient to stuff that extra purchase into it on the way home.

I travel all the time, I choose this bag because of the warranty. The wheel fell off within 6 months and it cost me over $50. to mail to Eagle Creek. (I live in Guam) After over 6 weeks it still hadn't been returned, after repeateed calls they finally found it and said they would rush it. One month after that it was finally repaired . I used it again and the handle fell off and also the bottom stand. Again repeated calls, which no one ever returned, I gave up and scrapped it. A TOTAL PIECE OF JUNK. The lifetime warranty also was a joke. I am not rough with my luggage, I am a sixty year old woman. I replaced it with a Briggs and Riley bag...

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac 22 Wheeled Luggage - 22'':
While the Tarmac is an okay product overall, I've been disappointed in some of its basic functionality. For example, roller-bag luggage needs to have functional and usable pockets. I find the outside pocket to be too small to put anything in it. In addition the zip size of the pocket is too small for my hand to reach in comfortably.Another example of weak functionality is the carry-bag strap. It doesn't clip and has easily fallen off at the airport. Fortunately, somebody noticed that my strap was sitting on the airport floor, or it would have been lost. Finally, why can't they put an internal pocket on the sides, where you can put small items? Even the [...] Kirkland luggage (for 1/3 the price) and fantastic quality has some internal pockets.Had I not used my REI dividend to help pay for the Tarmac, I would not have bought it. It's just an average product that quite frankly, is way overpriced. Also, Eagle Creek seems to have lost its way with this piece of luggage. Instead of its heritage as more of an adventure travel luggage company, it's now selling product that doesn't have all of the basic functionality that you expect in luggage that everyone else provides... too bad.

This 22'' carryon from Eagle Creek really impressed me...lightweight, assortment of compartments and enough real estate for up to 4 night trips. [...] Already on my fourth trip and it's helped make traveling easier.

Comments about Eagle Creek Tarmac 22 Wheeled Luggage - 22'':
I came on this site to write a review for the Eagle Creek "Hovercraft 22". It looks like this is the newer model, with the identical capacity, so take my review with a grain of salt. After more than a year of frequent trips, I lOve this suitcase. I've been through many suitcases of all brands, quality, and bells and whistles. I must say that I like Eagle Creek most because it has the most capacity while still being considered a carry on. I'm a tall girl size 11 shoe, so on most the other carry on's, I was lucky if I could fit a pair of shoes. With Eagle Creek I can fit several. They were able to do this by stripping it down so that you could put items around the frame. I also bought a "cube" and "tube cube" that makes is easy to stay organized. I've found that other brands have garment bags, but those would take up so much space, it was really not a good feature. The eagle creek "pack-it" containers more than meet that need.
