I picked up this bag to commute to work (~1 mile walk/bike to public transportation). It needed to fit my lunchbox, coffee cup, large coffee thermos (inner pocket). The outer pockets are a nice size (can fit larger bottles, but not quite the huge thermos). The 2 under-flap pockets are great for sorting/storing my wallet, earphones, phone. big inside pocket fits my lunch box with room for umbrella (dry) and lots of other stuff. Has the other pocket in the back (with 2 zippers) that is good for a folder with papers.

I am a little concerned with durability (had it a few weeks). One of the little elastic things that hold the flap closed broke almost immediately (not sure if I caught it on something). The straps, although still intact, don't seem durable. There is only one thread seam keeping the straps on the bag. With my wear (like heavy thermos of liquid), I can see one edge starting to pull off a bit. I plan on trying to reinforce it myself before it is too late!

Overall, I really like the bag. It does everything I wanted it to do (let's just hope it holds up!). If the straps had an inch or wrapped around, would be a 5*.

I can't give this bag enough praise. I have the old style, purchased about 4 years ago, and still get compliments. I use it everyday for work and I'm not gentle. It gets tossed in my bike basket stuffed full of my clothes, shoes, lunch, bike repair kit and papers, and has had liquid spilled in it a few times and is no worse for wear. If I ever need to replace this bag it will be with another Sherpani, and probably just because I want to change styles! Brava.
