The North Face VE-25 is engineered to withstand the extreme conditions of high-altitude alpine environments. This 3-person juggernaut is still a perennial favorite with core mountaineers.

    • Multiple exterior guy points, no-stretch Kevlar® guylines with cam adjusters and an internal guy system provide stability in extreme storms
    • Continuous pole sleeves increase structural integrity; DAC Featherlite® NSL poles slide through without snagging
    • 2 large doors allow easy access and good ventilation; 2 vestibules for gear storage
    • Full-coverage rainfly includes pole-supported front vestibule with snowflaps and a stake-out rear vestibule for gear stowage
    • Internally adjusted mesh top vents ensure spindrift melts onto rainfly
    • Polyurethane windows, cold crack tested to -60°F, improve living conditions by increasing light and views
    • Taped, seam-tensioned true bathtub floor offers the clean angles and usable space of a catenary cut without requiring seam sealing
    • Waterproof, polyurethane-coated rainfly and floor provide superior protection and durability
    • Reflective guyline loops and zipper pulls help locate tent in the dark, minimizing the risk of tripping over guylines or kicking it loose
    • For a lightweight setup during nice weather leave tent body behind; use the rainfly and footprint (sold separately) with the poles and stakes
    • VE-25 comes with DAC stakes with pull-cords and 4 fabric snow stakes

Comments about The North Face VE-25 Tent:

This thing is pretty awesome. I feel like with the right bag I could camp on Everest. Only think is it is pretty bulky. Once split it's not so bad. You MUST have two other people going with you.. give one the fly, one the tent, and one the poles. Obvious advice.

If you want to camp on top of Mt Washington use this tent.. just buy a warmer sleeping bag then I did :P

Comments about The North Face VE-25 Tent:

Got my first VE25 as a gift when I was in college more than 30 years ago. It was my primary backpacking and mountaineering tent for more than 20 years, and while it is nominally a three person tent, I have slept five adults in it. When properly set up and guyed down the tent is very sturdy and sheds water, wind and snow. Although I have smaller and lighter shelters now for climbing or fast and light trips, I still use the old VE25 for car camping, for snow, and for backpacking trips with the kids where comfort and whining avoidance is worth the extra weight. My experience with the tent has been so good that I used my REI rebate last year to buy a second brand new one, which is very similar in design to my old tent.

Comments about The North Face VE-25 Tent:

My first VE-25 I bought about 20 years ago and it is still going strong. I bought a new one this year, because this is the best tent on the market for longevity. Backpacking this thing is a crusher, and I normally try not to backpack it, unless I am snow shoeing into high country. My wife and I used it last with our two dogs, and there is plenty of room for all and gear. Like Jeremiah Johnson said about a Hawken, "You can't go no better." I passed the old one down to my son. I also have a Mountain 25 when not going out with my wife and dogs. Equal protection in a smaller package.

Comments about The North Face VE-25 Tent:

I bought the VE-23 version of this tent probably 30 years ago. It's nearly identical to the VE-25 without the updates, change in doors, etc. I love this tent! Every time I use it I think it must have been designed by geniuses. I've used it in snow, all night rain, hard winds, cold, heat, and it's held up easily to all of that. Can be set up by one person, can move it around easily. Stayed in it this week with a new twist--a queen sized air matress with my wife. Still had room in the corners for clothes, radio, etc. My zippers came apart a few years ago and last year finally sent it in to North Face for its life-time guarantee. Several weeks later it came back good as new. Excellent quality, flawless design, can't wait to get in it soon!
