Comments about Marmot Approach Jacket - Men's:
Layer this thing with a fleece and you will be golden on chilly mornings in the back country. Spent a week in southern Utah this spring and it served very well on the chold Bryce mornings. Definitely try it on before buying as it runs a little small.

Comments about Marmot Approach Jacket - Men's:
Bought this jacket mainly for looks and fit, which is very good, but I knew the Marmot name could be trusted for quality. I have worn it for casual strolling and for cycling. The jacket beads water off very nicely, but I have not found it to be windproof or particularly warm. I would say it's good down to about 45-50 degrees. I have been somewhwat disappointed with some threads hanging here and there, but otherwise, the jacket does seem to be well constructed and will probably last me a long time. Fit is athletic but still comfortable.

Comments about Marmot Approach Jacket - Men's:
The jacket is great. It's nothing super fancy or flashy, it has a job to do and it does it well. It's warm enough to wear by itself down to the mid 40's or so, beyond that I layer it with a nice fleece and and comfortable at much colder temps. I wore the jacket/fleece combo last week while snowboarding in South Korea. The jacket left my top half warm and dry, in temps down to the mid teens, even though I spent more time landing face down in the snow at high rates of speed, than I did actually snowboarding.

Comments about Marmot Approach Jacket - Men's:
I happen to love this jacket for both the reasons the previous reviewer, O K Crackerby, liked it and the reason he didn't like it. I'm 6' 3" tall and weigh 170 pounds. I wear a 16 X 36 shirt size. Marmot jackets in Medium size fit me perfectly. For a while in the mid '90s, REI and other vendors were offering a lot of tall sizes. That must have proven too expensive, and now I often have to get tops that are too big around the middle in order for the sleeves to be long enough. Thanks Marmot for making jackets a little longer!
This is a great shoulder season jacket. It's not too hot, and it breathes great, but it blocks the wind and cuts the chill.

Comments about Marmot Approach Jacket - Men's:
I had bought a similar Marmot product about 25 years ago. It was a Drizone Jacket. It was the best jacket I have ever owned, light weight, extremely warm, fit well, and wore like iron.
The material and design on the Marmot Approach jacket was similar. When I received the jacket, I found that the design or geometry of the jacket was extremely bad. It was a Medium Size. It was cut to fit someone that wears a size 14 1/2 x 39-40 shirt that does not exist, except by being custom made. A Medium Size Jacket should fit someone that wears about a size 15 1/2 x 34-35 shirt, a normal size. I don't know who this jacket was made to fit.
