Perfect med jacket for cold weather sports (xc ski or winter mtn. biking) that still has good breathability, and fits nice and trim, and is long enough to cover your waist well.

I purchased Salomon XA midlayer top about a month and a half ago. Very Happy with it so far. Took it up to Sequoia, where I hiked for a few days. Used it as midlayer over my merino wool icebreaker, worked perfectly. I also wear it on local L.A. hikes/running or just on cool evenings over a t-shirt.
So far so good no complaints. Easy to wash just make sure you don't put it in a dryer. I line dried mine, just throw a towel on the floor and lay it on top til it's dry.

Have been using this Salomon top in combination with a wicking long-sleeved base layer for early morning runs at +/- 30 Fahrenheit. Ideal for these temps as it is light but offers great insulation while letting heat escape through the mesh pit vents. Not great in a stiff breeze, but that is what a soft shell is for.

The form-fitting design feels great with the snug fit still allowing plenty of range of motion. Am about to buy a second one on clearance as the weather just got warm enough to go back to the Salomon again, and I won't have to stretch the one top out over a week of use. Do not hesitate - it is a great product!

Like Mr. Rogers, I reach for this everyday in my office when it gets chilly. Looks like a million bucks and is super comfortable.

I wear it running when it gets colder - breathable and not too hot. Washes well and tumbles dry without wrinkles.

Built to last. Bulletproof.

I'll buy another. I might buy one in every color. I like it that much.

This top fits, feels, and looks amazing. It has a very flaterring snug and athletic fit but does not restrict movement. It does the job as a lightweight, yet warm midlayer for snowsports. The inside is very comfortable.
