Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
This is a really great rope. I have taken lead falls on it and used it on some rough climbs and have no complaints with the rope's strength after a year's use in TR, trad, and sport climbing from single to twelve pitches.
If you plan on doing a lot of multipitch though, I would recommend investing in a bipattern rope - the middle marker will fade over time and can be hard to see, especially after dark. Definitely better to have a faded middle marker than none at all!

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
The rope is a solid performer. Have been on various outdoor outings and it has done very well. Have gotten a few comments from climbing partners that it's a really nice rope.

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
The first time I used this rope on it frayed right at a connection point with another rope.
Each subsequent use various rock types has led to more fraying of the sheath. This things is less than a dozen days into outdoor use and I'm already nervous about how long it will last.
This is after ordinary sport routes on popular routes that see a lot of traffic.
The strength seem good but that's to be expected with a 10.1mm rope. Haven't even taken lead falls on it though and light use is taking its toll.
Not impressed.

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Bought this rope due to the great reviews, now I wonder if those reviews are misplaced. I've been using it since June 18, 2012, for about 3 times per week for indoor climbing only and putting moderate falls on it, alternating both ends.
By comparison to Mammut ropes:
The Cons:
It started to have major frays at point of knots and minor frays at other sections. Moreover, the knot locks up and hard to undo after falls. Due to its soft/flexible attribute, it is hard to check for defects after each climbing session.
The Pros:
Easy to clip, smooth feed through GriGri, and does not have Coils and ready to climb right out of the package as they claim.

Feeds perfectly through a Grigri 2. Just the right amount of stretch for leading. Weight is not burdensome.

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Great rope right off the bat. Soft, no kinking, nice thick grip. Great fall response.
Only bummer was that after only a few dozen pitches it was a bit difficult to tell the difference between the dark blue of the rope and the black middle marker. And I can only guess this gets worse with time.

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
I really like this rope. I did a fair bit of searching around as it was my first. I planned to use it for top roping out at Great Falls, VA, but also wanted something decent for some sport climbing. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Comments about Petzl Xion 10.1mm x 60m Dry Rope:
Ready to go with a clearly marked mid point this rope is good to go soon as you are. This was the first rope I have bought for climbing, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I was worried that 10.1 would be too thick and make belaying more difficult especially if it swelled at all. However it was easy to use, and the perfect length and weight for my outdoor climbs. It is a dynamic rope so someone pointed out the thicker it is the more falls it can take. The only thing I can think to complain about is no rope bag.
