The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated4out of5byLogissticsfromLittle Pack, Full CapacityI travel to under developed countries to provide medical aid and teach local medical professionals in current patient care. When I leave the staging area to go out in the field I can throw everything from my stethoscope, snacks, medical supplies, spare scrubs, and what ever else I need for the day. When I travel back to the states I can fold it back up into it self and put it in my bag to save room for my other things.
I wish it had a hydration pouch so I can throw my hydration bladder in there. I have to carry bottle water and sometimes that gets in my way to carry other things I want to carry with me. If it had some loops for attaching stuff that would be great also.
But for what I do it does me well on my trips and hope to buy a few more in the future to have in my other bags when I travel.

Rated4out of5byTrainerfromPerfect size and portabilityBought this as a day pack for a popular theme park. Perfect size and weight. Used little room in my suitcase. Upon return it was perfect size to carry on souvenirs. Two mesh pockets hold large water bottles. Only reason I didn't give five stars: one strap fastener slipped at times.

Rated5out of5byweijtanfromAwesome Day PackRealized I don't have a day pack once I left for my backpacking trip and immediately located a REI at Boston and got this and never regretted. Carries my jacket, DSLR with extra lens, water bottle, a notebook, battery pack, etc.

Rated4out of5bylucasa567fromAmazing bag! This bag really can hold a lot. It's a perfect day bag. Yes the water bottles can fall out but I only had to push them back in once while I was traveling all over Columbia (the country). I fit in a fleece, raincoat, 3 books, all my travel stuff, odds and ends, and purchased items- along with some food. easy to sling over one shoulder. Only carried one water bottle.
The ONE downside I experienced was that I wanted to keep my wallet, passport, and money out from the bottom of the bag (but accessible without pulling everything out)- There is a great top zipper but someone could easily steal out of that. I wish there was a hidden travel zipper under that top pocket so I could keep valuables zipped in there. That wasy I could have it on my back and not worry about someone unzipping and stealing things out of it.

Rated4out of5byGallivantinfromAlmost perfect day hike packI like the fact that the pack stuffs into itself to make a small package that doesn't take up much room in a suitcase. It has been serving me well on day hikes. The zippered top holds a lot and the bag closes securely. The only problem has been that water bottles fall out of the mesh pockets. These pockets really need straps or elastic around the top so the contents doesn't fall out when you take off the pack..

Rated5out of5byBrian the WelshfromAwesome travel PackI bought this pack specifically for a trip to Europe - I needed a decent size day pack to take with me that was compact when stored in with my luggage and that I didn't have to use as my carry on bag.
It easily swallowed all the bits and pieces I needed to have with me when I was exploring cities like Berlin and London including my large SLR camera and lens. Access to things inside was quick and easy and there's a zipped compartment on top of the bag for the things you need most often - non valuable items like pens, sun screen etc It also has two handy mesh pockets to carry water bottles. The build quality is excellent - I'm pretty sure the bag will take a lot of abuse.
When in use it was comfortable - not "Where's my pack?...Oh, it's on my back already hahaha" comfortable: you probably don't want to carry too much weight for too long as the straps are on the thin side and will eventually dig into your shoulder.
Overall - this will absolutely be my go-to bag for days out, especially around town. It's not a flashy bag that's going to attract attention yet is very well made and keeps your gear safe and dry. Excellent value for money.
