My daughter attends Western Washington University where it can be sunny and 55 one minute and cold and raining the next, then back again. She loves hiking in this vest as well as wearing it for casual use because it keeps her warm yet is small and flexible enough to roll up in her back back.

I love that this vest has keep warm in any weather. It has ventured in the Siera Nevada for many winter backcountry ski and backpacking trips. It allows a great deal of movement and doesnot feel like too much.

this is nearly the perfect layer :) Sadly the stiching pops easily. Thankfully patagonia has a great return policy.

I looooooooove this vest! I had to get a second color. I use it for everything - running in cold weather, biking, cross country skiing, layering under a jacket when it's really cold, early morning walks any time of year, casual wear, etc. It really blocks the wind and is warm but super light with no bulk. I get a size smaller in this vest than in many other Patagonia items. This is "regular fit" so I get an xs whereas with "slim fit" items I get a small. I wish it had a two-way zip for a bit easier temperature control when active, but otherwise perfect.

This is a great vest for every day and for travel--it's almost weightless--what a wonderful thing in big, bulky winter!--but very warm--the collar and fit are very flattering (think outdoors Snow White with wonderful stand-up (?) collar)--and its weightlessness and compressibility mean that it can't be beat for that extra layer on the road. It makes winter all better. It's so lightweight that I worry about snags in rough country, but Patagonia stands behind it.

I was so excited by the fun, vibrant colors and the light weight of this vest, but I should have known better than to order anything with "puff" in the name. Compared to other light weight vests I have tried on, this vest is not flattering- it puffs up over the neck and shoulders. It is the perfect weight and the colors are much better than most vests around, but I am sending it back.
