REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Lightweights for Clothing and Gear Power Reflectors is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best reflective material out there! This is THE most effective visibility product out there when it comes to reflectors/reflective material. I am a year round cyclist who does most of my riding in an urban environment. Additionally, I lead 2 club rides a week--both for kids. Since many of our rides are in the dark, I insist on high visibility on these rides. I've used pretty much every safety vest, sticker, light, blinkie and reflector out there over the past 10 years. I also teach workshops titled "Make it Reflective!" for Chicago Bike Winter with Willow Naeco. We've helped many people make themselves more visible to traffic. These are hands-on workshops where we use every type of reflective material known to man to increase visibility while on your bike. Lightweights are the BOMB. They are absolutely the best thing for making your bicycle, helmet, clothing and gear more visible to car drivers (and anyone or anything that has lights). As the name suggests, they are super light, so gram counters will not need to sacrifice safety over weight. I have applied these to a couple of my jackets, my helmet, my gloves, my bikes and my bags. The material has held up admirably. The only wear that I've had has been on my day-in-day-out winter bike jacket. It's a made of a stretchy material (sort of like neoprene). The lightweight stripes on my cuffs are looking a bit frayed on the edges--but this is after 3+ years of *heavy* usage on a stretchy fabric--and they still work fine. The lightweights that I've used on other things are rock solid. Considering the abuse that my helmet and panniers have taken, this is saying something! The material is easy to apply, but since you are dealing with a very thin film, you'll need to take your time so you don't mess up the product. It's pretty much just peel, stick, rub, and remove the protective backing. Voila! Make sure that whatever you are applying to is clean and dry before starting. If putting it on spokes, be sure to use a bit of rubbing alcohol to *really* clean them. As with any reflective item, focus on things that make your bike or your feet look like what they are--attached to a human being. Accent the diamond frame and wheels, highlight the pedals, point out your hands/fingers for signaling purposes, show off your feet. In an urban setting, really focus on things that are toward the bottom of the bike as car headlights (on a regular setting) actually aim down toward the road. Finally, remember that reflectors are great, but they are passive. You should still have a front white headlight on your bike (and in fact, in most areas, this is the law!), and it's not a bad idea to have a red blinkie aimed backwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Illumination and application My boyfriend and dad were not too thrilled about me riding my bike in the dark. I found that the reflective jackets were too expensive for my taste so I settled on the Lightweight reflective tape/stickers. These things are beyond perfect! They have the perfect luminosity and reflectiveness to be seen at night! I plastered these puppies on my backpack and the sleeves to my windbreaker. The Lightweights are very easy to apply but they can be a little troublesome trying to separate the backing paper from the reflective sticker. But it's perfect.
