The REI Endeavor vest keeps your core warm on mountain adventures with a technical fabric that blocks wind, repels moisture and stretches.
- Rugged double-weave polyester/spandex fabric provides 4-way stretch for excellent range of motion and comfort while on the trail; fabric resists abrasion
- Fabric blocks wind to 30 mph and has a Durable Water Repellent coating to help shed moisture; also wicks moisture and dries quickly

Love this vest. It is "soft shell" type material. More of athletic fit. I use it at work to provide addition earth on cold days. Stylish enough to wear in the office. I'm a 40" chest. Vest fits nicely over a shirt. It would be too tight over a fleece.

Bought this vest on sale as something that I could wear at work (I teach college) and as a thin layer on cold days. It has worked out way better than I had hoped. The vest fits close to the body, allowing me to wear it under a fleece or flannel, the collar zips up to cover my neck where drafts get through my coat, and it really blocks wind when worn under a sweatshirt. It also has excllent pockets and is stylish enough for me to teach in. I walk about 1.5 miles each way to work, and find the vest a great layer for when the temp. drops after dark. I couldn't be happier with it.

The Endeavor Vest is the lightest of several vests I own, the others including one that is down, one REI Primaloft and a Mountain Hardwear Windbloc version. Really this vest is best for cool but not cold mornings, when there's a breeze up that drops the wind chill factor, as a layer over a turtleneck or the like that doesn't really block the wind. My use will be mainly for birding and outdoor photography. While I live close to Yosemite, you will NOT find me hanging off El Capitan!

I have looked for two years for for a wind breaker vest then I saw this one in the REI store. It is ideal for keeping my core warm. I do not like much on my arms. this vest keeps me warm without weight or bulk. If it is not windy I can unzip and stay cool. Do not have to take it on and off. Great pockets. upper ones are good for small and light stuff. Bottom pockets are large enough for bigger items. It looks good with most anything under it. If I do carry it there is almost no weight or bulk. I have wanted something like this for two years. I am glade REI started making it.

This is a nice wind-blocking lightweight alternative to bulky, Polar-type vests. If you need a 'shell' earlier in the day or after sunset, this may be for you. A bit more style with the extra pockets and crisp finish. Also, adds a bit of rain protection like a sleeveless windbreaker. It likely wouldn't be your first vest, but a nice addition in climates like ours(Low 40s to start the day, 60s in the afternoon with a nice breeze, for example).

Pretty good fitting vest. It's a little tight in the chest. I purchased a medium and am 5'10" and 160. I wear this under my fall jacket and from car to office it keeps me plenty warm and blocks the wind. Since it is so form fitting I'll probably wear it for golf in the spring and fall.
