Comments about REI Passage 65 Pack - Youth:
Backpacks have come a long way since my husband and I bought our REI packs 20 years ago!
We got this for our petite 11 year old daughter to carry her belongs during out 3 week trip to Costa Rica. Much to my surprise, she used it without a complaint. The adjustable, supports made it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time in all types of weather. The three access points made it easy to get to the items inside. She really liked not having to pull everything out from the top.
There is plenty of room for her to grown with the pack.
The only downside was the lack of color choices (not looking for hot pink, but maybe another choice besides moss green for tween girls would have been nice).
My only regret is that my husband's and my REI backpacks are still going strong after 20 years of consistent use... because the new versions are REALLY nice!

Comments about REI Passage 65 Pack - Youth:
This backpack is the best pack that I have owned. It has gone on numerous backpacking and car camping trips, and since I am going to be hiking south sister in Oregon the fact that it has a removeable waistpack for summits and day hikes is pure genuis. It is a little bit heavy but other than that this is a perfect pack.

Comments about REI Passage 65 Pack - Youth:
Took it on a two day trip to get used to it for a bigger upcoming trip. My son's only issues were getting it adjusted right and when he got it, it worked great! He loves it.

Comments about REI Passage 65 Pack - Youth:
I bought this pack for my 12yo son. He is 5'6.5" with an average build. He was very comfortable even with a heavy load in the pack. The weight seemed to be well distributed. The pack was easy to load and easy to access things throughout the pack. He used the detachable top as a pillow. It has a belt on it so it can be used as a small daypack as well. Very well thought out!

Comments about REI Passage 65 Pack - Youth:
This is the second Passage 65 pack I have purchased. I purchased on for my oldest son last year and I liked the features so much, I purchased one for my youngest son, who just started Boy Scouts. I definitely like that it will be a pack that will grow with the boys as they grow. I was very close to buying one for myself, but went with the Deuter ACT instead.
The REI staff was extremely knowledgeable, fitting the pack to my son and showing him all of the features. This will be a pack they will use for years!
