Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
Amazing bag for the money, keeps plenty warm in mid 20's but havent been able to get any colder than that so far but seems to be able to handle it with ease. Great bag for the price! Very roomy and packs fairly small and seems durable so far.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I used this sleeping bag from Christmas to New Years where the weather didnt get above 15 degrees at night and slept very warm and comfortable . There was a lot of room inside for me and the next days clothes. I look forward to cold weather camping now .

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I love this bag! Just after purchasing this Kelty bag as a replacement to a +20 bag, I went on a 4 night hiking/camping trip in upstate NY. The low temperatures for each night were respectively 20, 20, 15, 5 degrees. I was just as warm in this bag on 20degree nights as I was on the 5 degree night.
One bit of advise that I agree with from another reviewer is that the "long" bag was a much better buy than the "regular" length. I'm 72" 210lbs and fit the "long" bag with a comfortable amount of space left for warm water bottles or extra clothes if a cold night calls for them.

Kelty Cosmic down 0 degree sleeping bag
I used this sleeping back during my hiking trip this weekend. I was sleeping in a hammock with a small quilt underneath me. The Temperatures dropped down into the low 40s F and it started raining. Fortunately I had set up my dry fly rain tarp, and it kept me dry except for on little part of the bag.
The Good:
The bag kept me very warm, in-fact I had to strip down to my boxers to stay cool enough. My feet did get kind of chilly even though I had a pair of wool socks on. See the bad for more details. The material is very comfortable against my skin, and I really like the neck draft baffle. A small portion of the bag got wet during the night, but after I aired it out in the sun it dried out quickly. The bag packs very small, and with a compression sack fits without any problem into my 70L internal frame back pack sleeping bag compartment. I am 5ft 9inches and I am glad that I bough the long version of the bag.
The Bad:
The zipper is not the best quality that I have every seen, but it should do the job. Even though this bag is rated as a zero degree bag, I would not recommend taking it to those conditions. It seems like this bag does have some cold spots. The cinch for the hood on the mummy bag doesn't look very strong.
For the price, I think this bag was a good buy, but I don't think I would take it on a 0 deg camping trip

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I've come to the conclusion that whatever the comfort rating is add 25 degrees and you'll be right on. With this bag there were no cold spots. Love this sleeping bag it kept me warm in Northern Idaho this summer, and I hate being cold. I'm sure this would be a great 3 season sleeping bag. I will recommend this product to all my friends.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I bought this sleeping bag in an effort to stay warm while sleeping in a hammock during a backpacking trip in the Uinta mountains. It met and exceeded my expectations. I did spend one night on the ground under the stars, and the bag absorbed a fair amount of dew, so it's not very water resistant. I wasn't surprised by this though, and it dried in the sun quite quickly.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I have slept comfortably in 7 degree nights as in 53 degree nights in this bag and have yet to get cold. On warmer nights, above freezing, I leave the bag unzipped, if I don't I sweat, but I still do not get the slightest bit cold.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
Most recently used in October on 7 day hunt in Colorado. At 11200, temps got down to teens and single digits.
On night one, we had to quickly pitch tent on snow pack. Had very thin sleeping pad, stayed warm with plenty of room to move and adjust.
Packs away nicely, although i used a different compression sack. Bag got went a couple nights due to condensation but dried out in an hour with proper ventilation. For someone who gets cold feet, its nice to know when you turn in for the night you will stay warm. Cant beat what you get for the price.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +0 Sleeping Bag:
I was looking to replace a +20 synthetic, and go colder at the same time (a few nights in single digits tends to motivate).
For down filling and it's EN rating, this Kelty bag is an EXCELLENT value. It's very warm and all the features function well; the zipper is easy to use and snag resistant, the draft tubes and hood/collar cinches are great, no dead spots thanks to the offset baffles, and there's enough room for side sleepers. I'm 5'11 and the regular fit like a glove.
However, what's not listed on the specs is that the filling is duck down, not goose. Combined with the entry level 550 fill power and thicker fabrics than pricier bags, this leads to higher weight and lower compressibility overall. From testing in stores, I found most higher end 0 degree down bags to work with my current compression sack as good or better than the +20 synthetic. This Kelty seemed slightly harder to stuff, and a bit larger when compressed. It'd also be nice to have a pillow sleeve and internal storage pocket, but hey, they aren't essential and I'm not complaining at this price.
Ultimately, it's a great bag from a quality brand, well made, very warm, and much MUCH cheaper than others in the same class. Get it, unless you're counting grams or cc's.
I haven't had a chance to experience the water resistance like other reviewers, but I imagine some Nikwax Down Proof would help.
Oh, and I happen to like the color, by the way.
