Comments about Dynafit Stoke Randonee Skis - 2010/2011:
I've found the Stoke, over the past three seasons, to be a great all around ski - despite it being a powder design. I've used it to ski ridiculously tight and steep couloirs from winter to summer in snow conditions from powder, to variable wind affect, to corn. It seems like a good quiver-of-one to me, especially if you live in a region with typically copious snowfall.
While the Dynafit inserts make mounting Dynafit style tech bindings quick and easy, the downfalls are that it's pretty much a one drill/one mount ski. You can re-drill and re-mount, but this would likely have to be done outside the inserts and voids the ski's warranty.
I've had three pair of Stokes. The first pair was returned due to the binding breaking and me not wanting to drill outside the insert. The second pair was returned due to edge delamination. I'm on my third pair now. All this being said, Dynafit and REI are both good about warrantying/guaranteeing the product should you have any problems and the Stoke is a great and fun ski.
