Comments about CycleOps 100 Pro Indoor Cycle:
My wife bikes few times a week, with winter and wet weather, thought be great to get her an indoor bike, so she can continue to bike. Excited when ordering it, but very disappointed after getting it. The seat is just way too high, even at the lowest position is too high for her, average height 5'-3"; I am 5'-9" and lowest seat position is just about right for me. Guess this bike is designed for people 6' or above, as the seat can be adjusted for someone > 7'. Contacted REI and CycleOps, bought the low-ride adaptor online per CycleOps instruction, even that is too high for my wife... very disappointed, now have to get a new Christmas gift for her...

Comments about CycleOps 100 Pro Indoor Cycle:
I ride all year in most weather on many different bikes but when the roads get icy it's time to train indoors. In the winter I switch to a mountain bike as long as the roads are clear but when the black ice comes I move downstairs. I've tried bicycle trainers before and used a LifeCycle but nothing comes close to the ride and feel of the Cycleops Pro 100.
I ride a Specialized Roubaix Pro and was able to take measurements off the Roubaix and dial them in on the Cycleops. The adjustment is precise. I added a set of Look pedals so I use my regular road shoes. Having the drop bars and simulated brake hoods makes for a very realistic riding position. The heavy flywheel, ease of tension adjustment and stable base makes it easy to get down in the drops or get out of the saddle for sprints and climbing.
I didn't need the power model (Pro 400 and Pro 300) so I opted for the Pro 100 which is the bike but no computer. I did some research and found that the Bontrager Node 1 Computer with separate Cadence and Speed Sensors could be installed and I could use an existing HR Monitor and have everything I need - Speed, Cadence, Distance, Heart Rate, etc. Everything but Power.
I now look forward to indoor training - it's more fun (and much harder) than I ever thought it could be.
By the way - no one discounts these Trainers, but REI made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Become a Member - save 10%, open a Visa Acct. - save 5%, use the Visa card - get $100 gift card. This was definitely one of those times that even though it sounded too good to be true - it was. REI Rules.
