I bought this watch specifically for its altimeter function, but didn't realize until I read the instruction manual that the altimeter doesn't measure gain/loss unless you've moved more than 50 feet in a specified time period. If you're moving up a steep incline at a decent pace, that works great. However, for most activities the readings are totally off. For example, on a recent 10,000+ vertical feet day of skiing, the watch told me that my total vertical gain was 1,500 feet because I apparently didn't climb over 50 feet between readings. However, while trail running a steep trail, the reading was very accurate.

Other than that, the watch is good for telling your starting altitude and highest altitude. It's easy to navigate between settings once you read through the instructions. I really like the solar charging feature. I think it's a good watch, I was just disappointed that it doesn't work for my purposes.

I bought this watch a year ago and since have used it every day in almost every condition from very formal to sandy, dusty, pouring rain, and perfectly clear weather. (I am going to test the extremely cold and dark this upcoming year)
I have never had to adjust the time except when crossing time zones, and that is only a couple button adjustment.
So far the watch has shown a little sign of fatigue to include minimal wear on the watchband.
The altimeter is atmospheric based so should be adjusted daily by comparing to a GPS. It is accurate enough for recreational use and day to day use.
The compass is accurate enough to be used in a land navigation course. As well as it contains some features to temporarily hold a selected degree in its memory. However, I would not solely rely on this device without a compass as back-up
The thermometer is affected by skin temperature up to 15 degrees, but this can also be adjusted to compensate.
Overall, I think this is a great watch and if it continues to perform over the years as it has this past year, I will consider my money well spent.
