Comments about Bison Designs Last Chance Belt:
My all time favorite pants to wear out in the woods are my trusty BDU's- Durable, breathable, comfortable, and CHEAP ($15-$20 a pair vs $40+ for something I'm just going to shred in one season of bushwhacking through cactus). Only problem with BDU's is that they're designed to fit a wide range of people, so a belt is a necessity.
After struggling with a few different belts that fell apart, slipped, etc, I saw this at REI and thought "that looks just about perfect!" It turned out to be exactly that: Durable, light, stays where you put it- everything you could want from a belt. So simple, but boy does it save a lot of hassle.
To those who say this belt slips: You're wearing it wrong. It does not secure like a normal "put the pin through the hole" belt- it cinches down and ends up folding over itself. The tail of the belt should NOT end up going through the triangular shaped loop. You should instead:
-pass the tail UNDER the buckle
-bring it out through the center between the smooth side of the floating center bar and where the other end of the belt is sewn to the buckle
-bring is over the center bar and back under the buckle
-pull the tail (which should now be doubled over itself with the floating center bar of the buckle inside the apex) to cinch it tight.
Now, any time there is stress on the belt, the knurling on the center bar of the buckle actually grips the belt tighter. The harder you pull, the tighter it holds.

I have had the belt for a while and found it to be a great belt. I saw where some had issues with slippage but not me. I wear it often and it is sturdy and looks good.

I love this belt and plan to get other colors now. The best feature is the belt buckle design. It stays right where you tighten it and doesn't loosen one bit.
If you are into a lot of vigorous outdoors activities where you don't want to have to re-tighten your belt or pull your pants up every few minutes... this is the belt for you. It also looks great with a pair of jeans or khakis in a casual or business casual environment.
The webbing is thick, sturdy and of high quality. Strong stitching that will hold up to everyday use. I will have this belt for many adventures and years to come.

Comments about Bison Designs Last Chance Belt:
This belt has very durable webbing. I was so happy with the one I bought in the store, I ordered a black one online.
The key features for me are the metal hardware on the buckle keeps the belt exactly where I adjusted it. The thickness and stiffness of the webbing keeps your pants from rolling over it. It will stand up to carrying basic items like a leatherman, phone, GPS etc. But not stiff enough for someone using this for law enforcement applications.
It's very fast to release the belt, but takes a little work to secure. But once it's secure you want worry about it for the rest of your adventure. I now have both brown & black and they look great with my Mistral pants or jeans.

Comments about Bison Designs Last Chance Belt:
This belt does not slip. In reading other reviews it appears not all reviewers understand how this belt is to be correctly worn. The non-buckle end feeds through the buckle and doubles back on itself. It does not get passed through the "V" portion of the buckle. When worn correctly, the buckle does not slip. If you are looking for a webbing style belt to hold up your pants, this will do the trick.

I love the concept of this belt. Not only does it look super cool, it's also made to last. The one deal-breaker for me is that it does loosen when you don't want it to. I'm average size and found that the buckle does not grab the belt tightly and every time I would sit, the belt came very loose. I ended up donating this to the [@]...

Comments about Bison Designs Last Chance Belt:
I ordered this belt hoping for something rugged and durable but lightweight enough to be versatile as well. From my first impressions, this belt fits the bill perfectly. It seems to be very high quality, solid construction (very durable nylon material, good width). The belt tightens nicely and stays rock solid thanks to a great buckle design that has grooves (for lack of a better word) to lock it in place. Only very minor downside was I found it almost too difficult to loosen when I wanted to (you have to slide the locking mechanism out first and then work it loose), but I'd much rather a belt be difficult to loosen than too difficult to tighten.
To me, this belt seems like a great option for serious outdoors activities, climbing (although I'm not sure it's rated to be used as a climbing belt), or even just every day/all-purpose use. The plus is that it's even a bit stylish in my opinion, it looks good. Seems like a belt that will last for years.

Comments about Bison Designs Last Chance Belt:
Function: For a skinny guy like myself, a sturdy belt is a must if I don't want to lose my pants! I had been looking for a belt that wouldn't slip or loosen during vigorous activity and this one delivered. As another commenter mentioned, to ensure a good grip the belt needs to pass back through the V shaped portion, after that it won't budge.
Durability: The webbing on this belt is thick and feels quite sturdy. The stitching also seems top notch. I've worn mine for awhile now and I haven't noticed a single sign of wear and tear yet.
Style: It's a black belt with a gunmetal buckle, meaning it will pretty much match anything. Certainly you won't be wearing it with a tux but it goes well with a pair of hiking pants. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing some more design options.
Drawbacks: I've only found one flaw that has kept me from wearing this belt more often. Once looped back through itself, the buckle portion of the belt sticks out quite a bit farther than an average buckle would. Ninety percent of the time this isn't an issue, however when backpacking it can interfere with the hipbelt of my pack if I'm wearing higher riding pants. I could see similar problems wearing it under a climbing harness but I have yet to try it.
Overall: All in all this is a great belt and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to keep their drawers up!
