Waterproofed, polyurethane-backed leather uppers are seam sealed for protection against the elements
Molded thermoplastic urethane toe bumpers protect uppers and feet; molded heel ledges help keep snowshoe heel straps in place
400g Thinsulate® polyester fiber insulation offers warmth and moisture management; boots have a comfort rating of -40°F
Polyester linings help wick moisture away from feet for enhanced comfort within the boots
Removable EVA footbeds and EVA midsoles cushion every step and offer additional thermal protection
Rubber outsoles with multidirectional lugs deliver dependable traction on wet or dry surfaces

Temperature ratings are approximate based on high activity levels and can be affected by many conditions, including weather, wearer's activity level, fitness, metabolism, perspiration, circulation, exposure time, clothing and cold sensitivity.

I love this shoe, from snowshoeing to just walking across the street in cold weather. It's always warm. The traction is great. It has a built-in lip on the back of the shoe to support snowshoe straps. It fits in my Atlas snowshoes perfectly. What I like most about the shoe is that I wear a 13.5 double wide normally and the 14 regular of this shoe fits me perfectly with hiking socks on.

Only problem I have encountered is that the shoelaces seem to want to come undone when you get a little pullage from the speedties. Just double tying seems to stop that.

Great shoes. I would recommend.

I bought these to have a pair of warm boots to wear casually in cold weather. I liked the quality feel of the boot, but unfortunately one of the ringlets popped off the 2nd time wearing them. REI was great about exchanging them for another boot.

So far, they are warm and dry (very important in winter), they are just stiff and need to be broken in, and that may take some time. They don't hurt my feet, but are not as comfortable as my warmer weather boots. I think once they are broken in they will be great winter boots.

I bought these at the main store in Denver after trying on several other pair, including the Keen Summit Counties that I was planning on buying. But, the price and fit of the Sorels won out.

In using them at altitude and at temps around 0 degrees, these kept my feet warm...almost too warm, but I was hiking uphill and was not just standing around. I also used them at about 5,000 feet, in 35 degree weather and they were definitely too warm for that! They are a little stiff, but not terrible. For really cold weather, these are great.

I use these for cold weather day outings, whether that be hiking or going to an outdoor game. My feet get cold easily, due to poor choice of footwear as a child that felt me partially frostbiten, but these boots keep my toes as warm as I expected. Wool socks & these boots work well for me. I wear a 10.5 or 11 in casual shoes and the 10.5 fits me just fine.

I bought these to wear to Finland and Russia for a December/January trip. The build quality is excellent, and they kept my feet warm as advertised. I normally buy shoes 1/2 size to big to accomodate my wide feet. I bought a size 10, which is my normal "upsized" shoe size. They accomodate my wide feet and are already slightly upsized to accomodate thick winter wool hiking socks. Used them for two weeks straight so far. Amazingly comfortable out of the box. No sores during break in. Break in was never necessary.

The ankle hight is high enough to handle packed snow, but not powder drifts. Nicely, the ankle is still low enough to wear on the streets for sub-zero temperatures. The subdued all-black theme doesn't stand out when wearing with jeans on the street. Outstanding quality for a very reasonable price.
