I was looking for shoe that would keep my feet happy while I spent my day keeping my elementary students happily learning. I also was needing a shoe that would keep my bunion from getting worse. This shoe does pretty well. It is still a little stiff and leaves me with a sore toe, but not like my other shoes that are a lesser quality. I would totally recommend this brand and style for teachers. It does keep my feet fairly warm on the cold, wet days, which is a bonus.

i work 12-14 hour shifts and at first they killed my feet. but after a while they are ok. i do mix and match my shoes often between these and a pair of oboz hiking boots.

Very impressed with these Merrell shoes!
I just picked these up after ordering them online and couldn't be happier. I purchased the brown in a size 9 and they are true to size and color seen.
I have a need for quality support and comfort after having a broken hip from a ski accident and these do deliver.
Though, I must agree with the others and ask Merrell, "why the squeak?"
Still, they are comfortable for sure!

I'm an orthopaedic surgery resident and, unlike all other surgery residents, just can't do the Danskos. (uncomfortable, turn my ankle a lot in them, stinky after minimal use...) so i turned to these Merrells 3 years ago. That pair has withstood an unbelievable beating: blood/body/other fluids wipe right off; odd stains don't show up; comfortable for >30hr shifts; no back pain standing >8hrs in the OR; easy off/easy on; looks good with scrubs but can transition well with jeans, too. (wipe off that blood first!)

bottom line: three years later, i finally need some new work shoes. and i'm getting another pair of these exact same ones.

These are great shoes! Had a another brand shoe with similiar styling that I loved, but those wore out, and no longer available, so tried Merrell. These are even better. I am on line now to order another pair as I think they are wonderful! Backless shoes can be difficult to walk in for long distances, but did 2 mile round trip today and they were great.

I love these shoes for their comfort. With a pair of Smart Wool socks I am all set for cool days in my home office. However, I've noticed a squeak when I walk on hard surfaces. The squeak is not as bad on carpet. It's not the bottom of the shoe making the noise, but within the footbed. I noticed someone else commented on the squeak, so I hope Merrell takes note.

I bought these for work and though they certainly are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, they are completely unsuitable for work conditions where there may be liquid on the floor. After only one work day, I noticed that these were FAR from slip-resistant in any way; though they do not claim slip-resistance, I would have expected at least SOME traction from a pair of Merrells. Also, I noticed a bit of a squeak when I walk in them. Sadly, these will have to go back.

I got these as a gift and they are great! They put something between me and the floor but are not heavy and clunky. Were not cumbersome while driving like other shoes can be. Comfy with or without socks. I always hate wearing "real" shoes after all summer in sandals or bare feet but this was an easy transition.
