I like Merrell and these were on sale and I needed a new winter boot to negotiate the winter streets in Seoul where there is often snow and ice. First thing I noticed was how light they are. But I also quickly noticed an uncomfortable rubbing just above the ankle where I found a construction flaw , a wrinkle in the lining; I called REI to have them send a new pair but they were sold out. I really didn't want to return them so I have continued to wear them and I think the wrinkle is slowly smoothing out with wear and I really like these boots. They are warm, have great traction and seem to be very durable.

I was suprised how comfortable they were/are from day one. Very light. Support is ok. Need to pay atention to tie laces (each use) from the front to top (little hassel). If not, support for off trail is not good.
I used them for a month (very wet season). So far, they stay very dry inside.
One of my better shoes that I got recently.

I really wanted this boot - but the 11.5 was a smidge too small and the 12 was way too large. Darn. It is one cool boot. Try on before you buy - but REI is great about returns.

I live in Portland, Oregon. I don't own a car and these boot have been my main mode of transportation for the last 8 weeks. They broke in very easily. I'm on foot a couple miles each way every day on the pavement and they have remained very comfortable.

They have been put to the waterproof test through the last 8 weeks of rain in the Pacific Northwest. I've taken them up to Mount Hood, through Forest Park, and most importantly, through the streets of the city in the pouring rain. I have been ankle deep in water and slogged through the bed of wet leaves that blanketed the side walks and crosswalks. No slips, no falls, and best of all, no leaks. As an added perk, the boots are uncharacteristically warm for their light construction and they have great ankle support.

As my experience with Merrel construction has been for the last 10 years, if you have flat feet, get an orthotic insert to lift the arch a bit. The arch support could be better and although the ankle is very stable in these boots, you'll feel like you're pronating a little when you walk. Otherwise, great boot!

First of all, boots are way better looking that in picture. Second, while these aren't what I'd call hard core snow boots, they're the perfect casual boot for winter weather. They're comfortable and warm. I just got back from skiing in CO and they were the perfect après-ski boot

I needed a good snow boot for the Minnesota Winters for walking and shoveling snow. These boots wouldn't be used for prolonged, extreme cold, so something rated in the 10 to 25 below range was good. I wanted them light weight, stylish, waterproof and breathable. I got it all the Merrell Graz boot. I am coming in and out of the house often when shoveling and the tie-up feature of the boot does make it a little more cumbersome than a slip on or a zip up. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase, though.
