The Arc'teryx Atom LT vest is a sleeveless core-heater that hugs the body with efficient synthetic insulation to preserve warmth. The wind- and water-resistant outer shell extends stand-alone use.

  • Outer shell fabric has mechanical stretch for mobility and features great water repellency and wind resistance
  • Lightweight and compressible, the Atom LT features Coreloft™ synthetic insulation; Coreloft is a thermally efficient polyester insulation with excellent loft resilience
  • Polartec® Power Stretch® with Hardface® side panels increases active-use breathability and mobility, and decrease bulkiness
  • Durable Water Repellent finish fends off light rain showers and snow

      I travel long distances by motorcycle, where warmth, wind protection, and packing volume are important factors. Recently, I lost a beloved windblock fleece vest that accompanied me on an 11,000 mile trip to Alaska. This loss provided an opportunity to replace a garment that was beginning to get threadbare. The Arc'teryx Atom LT Vest makes a superb replacement, just as warm, but it takes up less than half as much space when packed. A 10" Eagle Creek Pack-it cube is a perfect fit for the rolled up vest.

        Received the Atom vest as a pre-Christmas present chiefly to replace annually replaced fleece vest that I wear in the office. I have a corner office on the second floor of a historic building on the Chesapeake Bay. Winter wind whips right through the walls and windows, so I always need something lighter than a jacket and less bulky than a sweater. (My wife confiscated my favorite cardigan after she saw me wearing it during a visit to the office—said it made me look like "Mr. Rogers." Ouch!) Thereafter, for the past few years, fleece vests have been fine but I was constantly replacing them when they started to pill. I also spend time on the waterfront where a wind-proof product is essential. So yeah, the Atom vest looks cool in the conference room, it keeps me comfortably warm when the wind blows through the walls, but it flat out performs in the elements, too. We've had steady 35-knot winds yesterday and today with temps in the low 40's to begin with--whatever that converts to in wind chill. I was outside a good part of the day with a t-shirt, shirt & tie and this vest. No kidding, didn't feel even a chill in the core. With a good shell, this will rock! (Could easily fit under a sport coat, too.) Haven't found better warmth-to-weight ratio. Packs incredibly small. Lined neck piece is nice feature when zipped all the way up. Two zippered outer pockets and inner pocket are roomy. Back is cut long enough to cover lower back, down to top of hip pockets. For me, very practical, stylist and functional. I can wear it around the office, yet don't have to worry about grabbing a jacket or shell when I have to make a quick dash down to the docks. I have 17" neck and 46" chest. XL fits fine. Really can't see how a vest could be made better. I'd buy it if I hadn't received it as a gift.

          I saw the women's version at an REI and kept looking for the mens version. found the men's jacket and tried it on and it quickly warmed up, but i really wanted a vest. ordered it online as soon as i got home.

          Its awesome! i use it almost daily as a midlayer when i'm out and about or hiking. Keeps me warm without making me feel bulky or restricting my movement. extra pockets are a plus as well!

          Its extremely lightweight. when i take it off on hikes, i have to put it under my pack to prevent it from blowing away.

          I would def recommend the ATOM series to a friend.
