The Atom SV Hoodie jacket is significantly warmer and more protective than a fleece jacket. It's breathable enough to be used as a super warm mid layer and protective enough to be an outer layer.

An extra thick dose of synthetic Coreloft™ insulates but still packs up small; tricot-lined underam panels enhance breathability and decrease uncomfortable bulk
Outer fabric is moisture- and wind-resistant; Durable Water Repellent treatment causes water and snow to bead up from fabric surface
Insulated hood with a tall collar amps up warmth
Full-length front zipper with interior wind flap
Stretch-woven cuffs are extra comfortable and hold in warmth
Drop back hem and adjustable drawcord hem
Features 2 hand pockets and an internal chest pocket
Articulated elbows and gusseted underarms ensure you are comfortable in the Arc'teryx Atom SV Hoodie

The only thing I'd wish for this jacket to be is a little more roomier. My husband says it looks a little tight if I zip it up - but I'm not a slender person so not sure if this matters to anyone else. Other than that, it's lightweight, warm, and has a hood if I need it!

I bought a PAC Tech jacket from REI several years ago and love it, but it was time to replace it. Of course this style was no longer made.

I LOVE this jacket. I took it to Rocky Mountain National Park hiking January, 2013 for 5 days. Under it I wore a sleeveless top and lightweight jacket . I was always warm even tho on some days the wind chill was below zero with 40mph winds.

I then went on to Denver and again wore it every day with much warmer weather. So glad I got it. Worth the price.

The only thing I miss is a zipper which zips from both the top and bottom. That is great when hiking.

This is the ONLY jacket you need! The quality of this jacket is superior, and the warmth-to-weight ratio is perfect for cold without the poofiness of down. I wear it every day in the fall and winter. It fits perfectly under a shell for snow and rain, but can withstand drizzle on it's own. I love the hood, it fits well with hats or climbing helmets. The purple is beautiful! Get this jacket.
