The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pak Plus Kit:
I bought this for adventures in the backcountry when I go alone or when I'm going with minimal equipment. One example is 10+ mi trail runs where I could be far away from help if I got into trouble.
This kit is well thought out to include pretty much everything you could need, with the possible exception of a light bivy sack which I bought separately, but don't always take with me. All of the items are good quality as opposed to other kits that have some junk I would not want to have to rely on in a survival situation. The one item in this kit that was disappointing and make it four stars instead of five is the compass, which seems to get stuck and not rotate freely unless you tap it repeatedly. The flashlight is really cool because it won't accidentally turn on in your pack like other small lights, it's water resistant, and super small.
I have seen other reviews complaining about the price and suggesting the additional items you get in this kit vs. the non "plus" kit aren't worth the additional cost, but after also buying the cheaper Pocket Survival Pak for my son and then trying to add the additional items that come in the Pocket Survival Pak Plus Kit, it came out to nearly the same price, and some of the items weren't as nice as those in the "plus" kit, and all the headache was not worth the small amount I saved. If I did it again, I'd just buy him the "plus" kit to begin with, like I bought for myself.
Overall, I think this kit is well worth the cost. I know skills are as important as equipment, but if my life is on the line, I won't be lamenting that I don't have what I need to survive, or that what I do have is junk, because of trying to save a few bucks.

Comments about Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pak Plus Kit:
I purchased this product during an REI sale. At that price, it was worth it. However, I must agree with another reviewer who stated that this kit costs too much at its regular price. I love AMK products, as well as Doug Ritter products, but if you price the regular Pocket Survival Pack, as well as the additional components, the extra cost doesn't add up. The knife is a good knife, but you can buy it at an on line dealer for much less than its suggested retail. The same is true for the Pico light, which didn't work in my kit.
That being said, I would still recommend this kit to a friend, with reservations. Why? Because it's all there for you, and you don't have to assemble it yourself. Plus, except for the Pico light, all the components are top quality, as opposed to the stuff in the Lifeline kits, which is junk. However, don't pay full price; buy it on sale.

Comments about Adventure Medical Kits Pocket Survival Pak Plus Kit:
This is a nice kit, but their regular pocket survival kit has almost the same things for a lot less. This one adds a knife, a water bag, an LED flashlight and water purification tablets. But those four things really add almost $50 to the price? That seems a bit much.
