    Comments about Natrapel Picaridin Insect Repellent - 5 fl. oz.:

    Took this on a month long road trip and spent nearly all of it hiking and camping in Glacier, Yellowstone, Teton, and other nearby parks. I also brought a DEET based repellant, but wanted to try this out first so we didn't damage our wardrobe, which was all synthetic.

    This stuff actually works!

    A few mosquitoes did follow us around for a while but they wouldn't land or bite us. The 7 or 8 bites I ended up with by the end of the month were all because I missed a spot (ie wore boots, sprayed, then was in sandals later and got bit on the ankle) or because it was post shower before we could jump in the tent! My fiancé, who despises bugs with a passion, also used this the entire trip, and found it to work extremely well for her too.

    The combination of permethrin treated clothing and natrapel on skin worked extremely well for us. We took a 1oz bottle in our packs as well on the longest hikes, but it did seem to last quite a while, so the 8 hour claim is probably pretty accurate.

    Research what bugs are in your area though, it doesn't protect against a couple types like chiggers. It is expensive compared to DEET based repellants. The 5oz bottle lasted us around 15 applications for 2 people.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
