Rated4out of5byCheeseburgerfromSolid productI have a 45 pound mutt who runs, hikes, chases deer, you name it. This pack has been great. Its size is just compact enough to pack water and/or treats but light enough for her to chase wildlife or follow me on a run or hike. The only negative is that one of the platypus bags sprung a leak not too long after purchasing pack. I now use 16oz plastic water bottles instead. I've had this pack for over a year. Because of the good experience I had with this pack I've purchased other Ruffwear products. They are by far the best active dog lifestyle products out there.

Rated5out of5bytessabeefromAwesome!This pack is awesome! We have been doing a lot of backpacking this summer, so I looked into getting a pack for my 55lb Australian Shepherd.
This one seemed to fit him really well. For his size, he should have gotten the medium, but the large actually fit him just fine when everything was cinched up.
This pack was perfect for hiking a 14er because it was fit the included water bottles with a total of 1L of water, two protein puppy snacks, and some poop bags. NOTE! This pack can fit a 2L Nalgene on each side though too, for bigger pups/a longer trip. I also had a collapsible water bowl clipped to the ring where the leash clips to, for him to carry and easy access.
This pack was also great for him when we went on a 3 day backpacking trip. We have a water filter pump, so we left the platypus water bottles at home and stocked his pack with some food & his collapsible water bowl clipped on for him to carry, which took a little weight off my back.
The only thing I don't like about this pack is the price. It's a little expensive but at the same time, i'd rather him be comfortable than not while making these adventures with me.
He romps/rolls through dirt, mud, snow, water, etc., and this pack is easy to clean and isn't easily destructible.

Rated5out of5byfr0punkfromSo yeah... We love it.We LOVE this pack for our pup. He is a 32lb high energy rescue terrier that was in need of some great outdoor exercise. We started hiking daily for about 2 weeks when we decided to look into a pack for him.
We paired this with the bungee cord hands free leash. He tends to get excited and can pull hard at the beginning of our walks, so I was a little worried when I saw there was not a metal ring to hook the leash to. Once we received the pack and got to see the loop for ourselves, we saw it was pretty sturdy. I would be worried if I had a bigger, stronger dog that might pull or get excited.
So yeah, the water bladders are awesome, the pack is light and sturdy and fits our pup just right. Just a little balancing tip: When stopping to give your pup water, use an equal amount of water from each bladder to keep his pack balanced :)

Rated5out of5byUltralight backpackerfromBuilt for comfort and made to lastMy wife and I have a Cockerspaniel named Kouklamoo. Until now we had to carry her water, food and toys in our pack. This pack is nice because it doesn't hang low on her body. She is free to jump over trees on the trail without getting hung up. We got a small for her and it was almost to big for our 23lb pooch.

Rated5out of5byCindyKfrommy dog's favorite packMy dog prefers this to his palisades pack, and it's a bonus that it matches his fur so well. Fits water, dog treats, and poop bags. Snug to the body and light.

Rated4out of5bySubearfromRuff StuffPretty much perfect for what my pup needs. He's ~30lbs so he shouldn't be carrying to much. When hiking around in the grand canyon we all need lots of water. This pack carries 1L of water, poop bags, treats and a collapsable water bowl.
I only wish the pockets were a teensy bit bigger to put a tupperwear in to carry his poo poo. Leave no trace!

Rated4out of5byJadeDestinyfromshould be more durable for the priceI love ruff wear products. i really loved this bag and the water bladders that came with it. Also the storage compartments was enough for a day hike for food and bags. When i first saw this this bag i thought yes now Loki can carry his own water!! Unfortunatly this pack was not for our 5 year old Akita. The loop where you attach the leash ripped on our very first use And the tear got worse through out our hike. That was upsetting for me because i really like this pack. So in the end we returned the pack no matter how much i liked it. This pack really was not for our Akita.
