These Merrell World Legend slip-on casual shoes offer rich leather construction, sublime comfort and all-day support to keep your feet happy as you wander the world.

These shoes are great! I'm on my second pair and the first ones are still in pretty good shape after years of faithful service. I have never had a pair of shoes that have been this durable and are still comfortable. I typically wear them with khaki pants to work, but they also look good with jeans. If I was traveling and could only bring one pair of shoes this would be the pair.

I purchased these shoes to replace dress tassel loafers that became too small. I wanted shoes REI could provide that would fit into a dress casual setting. Having just come from a family wedding, I can tell you that these shoes were comfortable for walking, dancing and driving. I was a little concerned about the slightly dorky look, but their comfort overcame my reservations.

I've owned two pair of these shoes. The first pair did great until the leather pulled away from the sole. I picked up another pair form REI and the shoes counter (the part above the heal) was so stiff it rubbed the back of my foot raw. I ended up having to work it with a pair of pliers till the leather softened up. Now the shoes once again work great, I just hope they don't fall apart on me again. I really like the style and connivence of no laces. Also I've got wide feet and these really fit them well.

Sole slips, does not grip, on wet surfaces. Which is fine, except when [a] it rains and you're walking on slick pavement, or [b] a janitor washes floors. Yes these are city problems, but then this is a city shoe.
Would still consider it acceptable if the sole were extra-durable. But it's not. (Not exceptionally poor, just average.)
The shoes and I are going back to REI, and then I'll be leaving REI... alone.

This is my first pair of Merrell shoes, though my friends have raved about them for years. I had been looking for a quality leather shoe versatile enough for wear to class, with jeans, and business-casual, and these fit the bill. I tried on many other slip-on shoes, from Merrell and other brands, and most were just not comfortable for wide feet like mine. The World Legend is much wider than the jungle moc, and fit my feet very well with no break in required. They are also great for standing on your feet for long periods. The only two drawbacks I've found is a squeak from the inside of the heal when I first put them on, and a tendency to be easily scuffed on the toe. However, the squeaks stop after my foot warms up the shoe, and the scuffs are fixed with buffing. Other than that, it's a great shoe.
